Great looking watch. Still very much on the top of my wish list. Hopefully I'll have some funds available shortly so I can get one of these beauties.

The blue dial is really stunning! Been eyeing this watch for a while. Actually sold my TC V6 just recently and thinking about buying this. Since my first watch was an Omega CRPO I've quite fallen in love with Omega and even if the TC V6 is the best of the best out there, it didn't feel right.. But then again, I only had the TC for a day. Hopefully the new owner will enjoy it more than I did.

So if I am to order the AT, should I pick the V6F with the Miyota movement or the one sold by Hont with the ETA? I think I want the MasterCo-Axial without the decorated window.

Thanks guys!

Okay what about swapping in a Miyota 9015 with hacking, smoother beat rate and less rotor noise? Presumably the dial and hands will just swap straight over?

Good Question. I copied some of the specs from Star Time. The hands are the same size. The dial feet locations are different though. Not a direct swap. In fact I bet the date disks are not the same.

Hont is not ETA it's Miyota. I had asked them directly and they confirmed it was an error on the website.

How is the bracelet?

I picked up an older AT gen and it was sized for a 5 inch wrist. I'm on leather ATM, but wouldn't mind having a metal bracelet - even if it was from a later model.

New links from Ofrei are USD$46 each and I'd need maybe 5-6. Not happening at that price.

I have just seen / noticed that you provided answers to every single one of my sentence in my post which was a long time ago
Thanks for sparing the time.

It all comes down to a matter of opinion and I prefer decorated movement in terms of look every time over asian.
If it is about sweep and repair yeah asian is much better but I PREFER miyota.
I dont see it as giving up a lot. It is a rep, come on. Expectations should be managed accordingly.

Someone who knows about the watches (not too many people though) would understand both of them are fake in a heart beat but most of the people would have no idea for either asian and miyota based movement watches so again looks wise (for myself not for others) it is much much better.

Stutter. when I wear it, I do not see it. Period.
Yes I see it if I pay attention or shake the watch but on a regular rainy/sunny day I do not see it. Because I do not stare at my watches for more than couple seconds top :)
Other people, regular people who are not obsessed with the watch like us would not even know if it was supposed to stutter or not.

I like the watch, when I wind it it does not feel cheap at all, it is a good rep. But it is a rep so do not expect something more out of a rep.

As far as I experienced they are reliable and more than my other asian movement watches, which broke and start losing or gaining time. Not miyotas.
If you worry about throwing money away for future problems, do not even deal with reps I say.

Lets say it breaks and for some reason I cant have it repaired due to deco or something else. Big deal.
Happened with asian type movements so it may or may not happen with miyota.

thats the name of the game.

Bottom line, I love the watch, I wish it could be smoother but it is not. But I prefer miyota over asian due to my personal preference on this.

You can see it stutter every time you give the watch a little shake.

Sure. The decoration plate looks more "convincing" that just a rotor but it is not going to convince anyone who can tell the difference between a 2836 and an 8500, so in practice it is not and you are giving up a lot to get that fake plate. Plus as soon as you see (or hear) that rotor freewheeling around or unscrew the crown to adjust it or wind it anyone who knows anything about watches will know it's a cheap movement.

These haven't been around long enough to draw any real conclusions about reliability but one thing is certain. You can get any 28xx clone repaired or serviced easily and cheaply. Parts are readily available and you can even get entire replacement movements. None of that is true of the decorated miyota. Just try and take that somewhere and get it repaired. In a few years when it needs service or repair you probably have a nicely decorated $300 paperweight.

The deep blue dial looks really good on the Aqua Terra. However, I'm contemplating if I should get this or the grey dial. Decisions, decisions...

I would buy a Aqua Terra if it had a ETA clone in it. I don't care for the choppy movement in the myota..

I just received the Aqua Terra (rep) in blue and it looks stunning.
The only thing I have to criticize is that the winding feels a bit cheap.
The diameter seems to be a bit smaller than 41.5mm.

Beautiful watch. I really want to buy one, but the choppy hand issues have me too nervous. Would love to see one made with a different movement.
