Is this a Swiss movement?

Hello all,

It looks like a 3135 clone, but I'm not sure if that's a Swiss movement or an Asian clone. It was supposed to be a Swiss 2836. Is it? If not, is it better/worse?

Thanks for your input!

(NOTE: PIC 3 WAS INCLUDED IN ERROR AND IS OF A DIFFERENT WATCH. PICS 1, 2, AND 4 ARE THE WATCH IN QUESTION).

I would think it's an Asian 2836 decorated to look like a Rolex 3135.

You've got two different watches there. Pictures 1, 2 and 4 are clone. Picture 2 looks like it could be ETA but it's not the same movement.

KBH All pics are of the same watch. It's mine and I took the back off and took the pics myself. I just want t confirm that I received what I paid for...

Among other things, it's got a totally different movement ring in the second picture. One's got an ETA type balance bridge and the other has a modified 3135 Rolex style.

Thanks guys. That's what I was afraid of. I am going to contact the dealer. Unfortunately I found him before I found RWI, but I'm still going to try.

It's definitely an asian Eta movement and it's inferior to it's swiss counterpart.

Not to beat a dead horse, but how about this watch? Same dealer, Swiss 2836 stated. I think I already know the answer... :(

Dealer clalims the 'calibre' is 100% Swiss, but the decorated rotor & bridges are Asian. I don't know a lot about movements, but I call BS on that...

the movement in the second set of pictures is part swiss at least. The mainplate is swiss (the edge to the left of the ETA stamp, it is curved. on asian movements its straight). Also I don't think the asian movements have inclabloc shock protection.
But as for the dealer claiming 100% swiss that is BS obviously since the bridges, rotor and some gears are modded to look rolex so they are undoubtedly asian.
Buying swiss movements from dealers has been discussed before and most of us (myself included) would recommend against it. The premium you pay is just not worth it, as they regularly use second hand movements, which are not serviced properly, dirty and even repaired with asian parts. meaning a swiss movement from the dealer is likely less reliable than a new asian movement.
Also the premium you pay for the A3135 (which is basically an a2836 modded to look like a 3135) can be unreliable and not really necessary for a rolex since it has a closed caseback, and it can't take gen parts (including hands) anyway so a bit pointless.

The movement of the second watch appears to be swiss. It has a Incablock shock system which is only featured with swiss etas so far...

Thanks, guys. I guess that makes me feel a little better at least. I guess I just thought in my naivete that "Swiss" meant "100% Swiss". Sounds like I'll be sticking to Asian ETA in the future...
