What's the gen bezel selling for, if you can even find one? 550-850? The mod might not be so out of bounds price wise. Just my 2 cents.looking forward to see the outcome.
Around 500+ pounds with full assembly if u can source it
Yes its absolutely no cracking, be sure, i bought a new bezel for my gmt because this one broke and my watchmaker wanted to try it first with a spare bezel and we only had this but hes keeping thisdefect one as a little trophy!
I will post many HQ Pictures of the broken bezel aswell of my new one after it got sputtered with platinum too.
If people like this modding well think about doing this more often but he said he has to check if its possible!
But if its i am open to do a big run as i dont like gen parts on my reps neither i like their price

Id say the insert itself gets even better, as the colour will sit better in it and more accurate! Also due the polish, the black cheramic will also be brigher as the rep is and as brigh as the gen is.
I think we need a gen vs rep of this afterwards!

hey mate i also had a v5 and to be hones i am not a nitpicking guy with flaws, i also like the white bezels but this is whole different to v5

I had ask some Company's already to for do that buisness...
So we can get an coat for the same Price maybe as an AR on an Crystal... The procedure is the same...
The good Machines cost over 1,5Mio Euro... It sounds a little that these Watchmaker is an Banned Watchsmith
Anyway... The Bezel is coated with an Sputer Machine...
Prob is that every single piece need an holder that must be paid. Ok at the Ceramic we need that price only one time.
And then you could put Maximal 20-30 pieces into the Machine.
One Sputing cost around 2500,-Eu so if we could get 20-30 pieces into the machine and together the coating will be under 100,-Eu but we all know how it works.
Who want? Me me me... And when the People should send then the Ceramic and dollar they play dead...
And at the End we have maybe 10 pieces that would be coated for 2500,-Eu makes 250,- for each piece.
Same procedure is on the AR in Crystals... And Remeber every different Crystal size need an extra holder.
The holder cost around 250-500,-Eu
If you have only one Crystal for exsample AP 42mm you have only one holder.
If you have one AP one PAM one Omega you need 3 holder = 750-1500,- only for the holders.
The Holder can be used often. But at first procedure you need them.
So all sounds realistic and the result is perfect... But good to know that these Work on the Rep Bezels...

No my watchmaker has never been to any forums, you can call menif you like and ill twll you more about him. He once worked at Wempe Hamburg and he is a good friend of mine and he does all the work for me, but he isnt a forum guy.
He always wants to stay in the dark ( haha funny fact that this is called the dark side) so i let him to but as you or as we all see he did great work again!
What do you exactly mean by holders?
Pricewise he only once told me shortly that it would be around 250€ per bezel if we would do it for sale, but i will work something out with him once he is back from holidays and if he can use the machinery for commercial usage i think we could maybe do a limited run of 10-20 for the first time and if the resonance is good we can maybe do a second run, but you re right we ve to see how the people accept this price but when i see that they pay 80-90 Eur for a paint mod i think 250€ for a perfect bezel is great!

The Holders are the Parts that hold the Material in the Machine... For Crystals for exsample they must be made so that the Crystal can be Sputed from both sides.
The Ceramic Bezel must hold also in the Machine... There must be an distance from the Sputter and the Particels etc.
For more info check google or Wiki... There are masses of information... Check for DLC, Coating, Sputtering you will find a lot of infos...
That what your guy did is not more as an DLC Coating the same that we know from Watch Cases in Black, RoseGold or or or... The same Sputtering Process would be done on the Ceramic Bezel...
So i don´t need to ask your Guy from HH i have ask self an half Year ago Big Companys who would do that job... And the Results are all the same...
An good Sputtering will be around 2000-2500,-Eu the holder will be around 250-500,-Eu for each piece... As i already said... The Maximum of Crystals that can put into an Machine will be 30 Pieces...
So you can Calculate 2500-3000,-Eu / 30 that would be the cheapest offer you´ll get... Maybe if you know your Watchsmith, he can make you an better Prices for the Coating.
That could drop the Price a little bit, but it wouldn´t be much...

Let us say the Price stay at an Calculation of 150,-Eu per Piece, i can tell you what will happend.
The People tell you wohooooo i will take one, i take two another one want Five etc etc...
Then you start an Slot List... 30 Slots for the first Batch... The People write there Name in the list...
You think cool so we have 30 Slots let us start, then you write 30 People an Mail and 15 of that never responce anymore... They play dead...
So you ask for other People you fill the Slots again and the play start from beginning.
The best part comes then when the People should send you the $$$ and there Ceramic Inserts then you will get only the half of Slots...
The other half that have send makes you Preasure when you will have the Finished Product?!??
And then there are two options.
1. You pay the other half self
2. You drop the Project send all Stuff back to the Customers and they are really pissed.
You don´t believe???
Ask Edgematic or Mikey2008 or or or... There are sooooo many good guys here that have try to give the People nice updates... But the most of the People don´t respect there work or what ever?!??
They don´t use there Brain... They set first the Name on the list and they make then the decision...

When then all Inserts are away then the People cry again! buhhhhhhhh no inserts what the F.... i want one...

But Remembe the Platinum Effect must have for that Price the same Color as the GEN... Because the newer Inserts that are out are already DLC´d !!! But in Silver... And sooooooo Bad they are not...

I agree, the new silver ones are not as good as the old white reps in my eyes. (White plat mod)
I hope this is new possible service is a viable modification for those that own ceramic models.

i dont like the the silver paint to be honest, but for commercial usage i still dont know if i want a project like this, but i will talk to my watchsmith and well start a poll who would like to invest money in this project
