What's next? Is that a real pair of Nike shoes? Are those Levi's authentic? I'm gonna need to see proof that your samsonite carry on is legit.

come on guys! If you're gonna live in an imaginary fantasy world, might as well choose a better one than this.

It's pretty much like that in Switzerland where it's illegal to import any reps even.

Governments only care because you're because you're moving large amount of values around. If Nikes and Levis cost as much as APs, governments will start to care.

I always travel with at least 2-3 watches (gen and rep), to asia and EU and never had any issue. Even had a customs guy compliment my watch before...never asked for papers

I travel to Europe at least every other year since I married my wife 25 years ago. I have always taken at lest two watches with me, it was only last year that I traveled with two reps and a genuine. Never ever has anyone asked about anything and we have brought back a lot of questionable stuff, not really watch related but very unacceptable (No Drugs) more food and plant like. brought back three swords when my father in law passed away in 2013, of course in the belly of the plane but still..Yes very old and Genuine.

I've traveled with only one gen and never experience this.

In all seriousness, open carry will prevent any airport official to approach and question you weather your watch is gen or rep. :harhar:

My last 3 trips from China to the U.S. I brought back at least 6 watches, 4-6 purses and 4-8 replica pens each trip with no hassle. When I fill out the customs form I always put gifts. I did bring back 40+ strings of pearls that got some attention but it was right before x-mas so easily explained.

No one cares about the shitty fake watch on your wrist!!

BUT....

Packing a handful of watches may (theoretical) attract customs queries.

Why wouldn't it? Customs duty is due if you bought them abroad.

I've been smoking for 30years and never had cancer!

I think the OP noob has a pretty good conception of what is real and what is "a noob assumption run riot". There are 1000's of "noob assumption run riot" threads about RWI. It causes all kinds of runaway misconceptions that we veteran guys have been putting those fires out for YEARS. Still do to this day too.

ive traveled the world with my reps, never stopped once. Sometimes TSA will look at my watch when they pat me down, ill get a comment like "nice watch" or something, but thats about it.

carrying an extra watch may not be a problem.....multiple ones can possibly trigger an alert, but im not sure what they can do at that point

It's not about it being a REP per se but about the gen costing a fortune.

Someone else just confirmed that if you have a watch that costs more than 15k you have to be able to show the official documents for it.

So if you have a PAM508 rep or whatever it could mean trouble if you're questioned.

I'm not even gonna read all this horseshit. I'm quite sure others have already responded to this ridiculous question.

Hey you there with the nice watch, come here, let me see your papers. WTF??

I never think it's a good thing to ridicule something before actually reading into it ;)

Like someone else already pointed out: governments care if you move extremely valuable objects around. If you walk around with a 150k watch, it's not the same thing as 100$ Nike sneakers.

Thousands fly all over the world wearing gold jewelry and watches. A suitcase full of them might be a different story but your personal jewelry no one cares. Come on use your head.

From what I read the stress lies on the plural. While one is fine, with five it may be considered illegal cf trading if the official is having a bad day.

Officially You are also only entitled to only 1 Rolex gen when entering Conus or the EU (except You have papers and officially declare them).

Fully agree with you!

I travel with a watch box of 10 watches, reps and gens. To Europe from usa and all over and never had a single issue. In fact, it's a great way to exit the ussa with far over the $10k aowed with fairly liquid assets - under the radar! ;-)
