It would all tie in nicely with all the old AP ROO's being sold off to make way for a new ROO with 2892/DD movement.

Can't think of any reason why they would clone the 2892 movement otherwise?

Interesting ;)

Not sure what this about exactly but the 2892 was cloned long ago. ;)

The Asian 2892 is one of the worst Asian ETA clones. But the ETA 2892 is the basis of the old OEM AP ROO movement (surprise! gen ROO owners are paying > $20,000 for an ETA base movement, LOL.) What will be the revolution is if they clone the DD chrono module which rides piggyback on the 2892. The chrono module is a beast to service (been there, done that, have the shrapnel wounds in my body still.). I think the AP service centre just throws the old DD chrono modules out and replaces them with new ones during a service run, as it is just too much hassle to deal with, even with their facilities. The schematics for the DD module are public domain, more or less, and, if the Chinese had any cunning and motivation, they would already have them in their CAD and machine shop. But, do they? No definite answer here.
In any case, please post any pics from watch bus directly on this thread, as many of us cannot access it through hyper-links.

Oh yeah: somebody already asked me: do I think the reason Noob sold off its old sec@12 A7750 stock is because they are cloning the OEM movement? My answer: absolutely not. LOL.

Yeah, I guess I read that link and the forum section is fast fast translated. The thread looked to be only related to a 2892 clone not the module nor AP. Good on them if they can replicate those.

The Asian 2892 is plagued by two gigantic problems: unreliability and poor power reserve. Oops.

BTW, thanks WatchGuy>IT for posting this. I do not want to seem ungracious for a thread that finally does not play the "Can You Help Me Choose Which AP Rep I Should Get?" game (WTF?). LOL. Need more serious threads here at AP RWI to keep it fun.

I have been paying nearly $500 for ETA 2892s of indubitable provenence (new, Swiss, unused, guaranteed).
