Hi all

As i said in my first post im relatively new to watches full stop never mind replicas. I bought a gen tag f1 a month or so ago and caught the watch bug from there. 3 weeks ago i was on my way to sunny Dubai for a nice little holiday, when i heard they done good quality replicas i had to pay a visit.

I ended up leaving with 4 reps 3 'AAA' (gmt 2, daytona 50th anniversary? And a panerai luminor gmt ceramica) and one 'AA' (explorer 2). I thought i could spot the main flaws of a rep so thought i would be ok, but after looking through some posts on here i realise how little knowledge I actually have in the subject haha! Also after seeing the prices being mentioned here i think i have overpaid for mine at around £350 around $500 i think?

Ive got no clue on movements ect just the basics like a rolex should sweep and the locations of markings so im keen to get some pictures up once i work out photobucket for you's to judge them and maybe give me an insight on things ive missed?

Also these franken watches have me intrigued, are most reps compatible with gen parts or how do you know if something wont fit? And is there any UK TD's on here?

Sorry if i bore you with the long post and all the questions just im like a kid at Christmas now ive found this site!! Haha.

Cheers!

Hi and welcome, this will be the right place to be for a loooong time and a lot of fun. All topics You bring up will be settled in time, to post pics You´ll need an account like photobucket.

Post up some pictures of your purchases and most of us can tell you how good a rep it is!

I think some people here have some very specialized knowledge on the watches they know and love which is why they can tell instantly if it's a rep or gen and what the signs are on any particular watch.

Frankens are difficult beast friend.....you have to do a TON of research and a fair amount of first hand measuring to figure out which gen parts will work for your particular model. And even then, if someone else hasn't done the project already and provided you feedback, you're really trailblazing when you attempt. Makes for a costly and trying time in my experiences...
