Need help with choosing/finding PAM model!!

Hi guys - need a bit of help as I'm not too well versed on PAMs.


I had and just sold (thanks to RWI!) a PAM 386. Whilst I liked the look It was too chunky for my wrist. At 18.5mm case depth it was a bit much.


I then recently saw a guy in Manchester wearing a black PAM that looked really smart, but also seemed to have a very thin case. Whilst this was probably a gen, it made me want to try again and find a PAM that works for me!


So, I was hoping the PAM experts here could help me by suggesting a couple of PAM model I could research more about that are black - not worried if true ceramic or just coated - and have the thinnest case as possible. I'm not worried if the movement is manual or auto, but I would imagine the manual watches will in general be thinner?


Any help from you lovely people would be much appreciated I've seen the HUGE PAM guide in here, but without knowing where to start it is all too much to take in! Thanks!!

I would suggest the PAM292, manual wind and radiomir case (generally thinner than luminor cases)

I'd also suggest a 292 and luckily there are new batches out as not long they where out of production. They're very smart and the ceramic case is excellent

I do like the luminor case type though too - are there any slim luminor models?. The one I saw was definitely a luminor as it had the distinctive crown protector.

I really wish I'd just asked the guy what model he was wearing instead of just staring at the watch and saying nothing. He probably looked like I was planning on mugging him! Haha

Here are some luminor suggestions:

Luminor 1950 (same case shape as your 386): PAM332
Luminor: PAM026, PAM360, PAM599

I have decided to go with the ceramic PAM292 from Hfac V2 with Pig (Noob V2 is sold out). Also enquired about the new PAM643, doubt I'll get anything, but I've seen pics of what appears to be reps hidden away on the web? Fingers crossed as it's a sweet watch! The hobnail dial is incredible!

You may want to check out ALE's Guide to Panerai's. It is a very comprehensive Reference Guide to all Panerai Reps, and includes which models are designated as Super Reps, First Class Reps or less. Pictures of the models are included. This is a must read for any new Panerai collector. It will help prevent you from making a selection that you may later learn is a poor replica.

The KW PAM 292 in not yet included in the PAM GUIDE. It is impossible to get updated the GUIDE with the huge amount of new PAM reps lastly.

@ALE575 - I wasn't having a dig, don't worry! I can't imagine it's ever possible to keep it fully 100% updated, but what you have done it phenomenal! Thanks for the links will definitely check all this new info out - thank you!

DO you know anything about any potential for a PAM643 rep being made? Seen an image of the gen and it's a beaut! WOuld really love to see it repped.

What is the reason for the non-pig version? I like the look of the pig on the dial - is there a massive quality issue with it?

Pig version is wrongly marked O-series instead of J-series. Besides PIG logo adds one way more to get inaccuracies.
