After reading the forums for a while, I want to thank everyone for all their help and the staff for a great website.

I've decided to order from BK (sub-c) as my first rep and I'm sure it'll be great. I'll post pics as soon as I get it (and he replies back to my PM).

Anyone have any recommended mods I should ask BK for?

Excellent decision to pick up BKs Sub-C; you are starting with one of the best out there right now.
Ask for his standard package (which he does for all of his Rolex watches), and then ask him what else he would recommend be added to it (e.g. Gen crown, crystal, TC hands, etc). You will, however, be happy with his standard package!
All the best with your purchase!

I wish I could get a dollar every time a newbie bought a sub as the first rep...

The only mod You should ask BK is to waterproof and test it for You and BK does that. Otherwise get it, wear it and enjoy it as it is, it´s expensive enough already.
BK does a great job in qc and aligning everything already, for re-disassembling it to start putting other parts in it, You just don´t need a BK-sub in the first place.
Save the money for now, get it first, there are other great watches out there:)

Go to Harbor Freight and buy one of their jewelers screwdrivers set. Get the most expensive, they are actually decent. Next, order one of the watch service kits off ebay with the pin press.

The sub bracelet links are attached with slotted screws. I just received my V5 Sub and I had to use the pin press to push the link bars out.

Cool Cool. Here's a question, I've been reading that Chicago has a custom problem (I'm in Chicago).

But since BK is in the US, does this mean his stuff does, or does not? go through custom?

Does not. Things only go through customs if they come from outside the country.

Do you have a link? I tried searching for it on there and only see regular screwdrivers.

If you are just looking to remove a couple of links from the band, ask BK to size it for you before he ships you the watch. He will include the extra links with the package.
But if you would like to do more serious work then a proper screwdriver set is in order. The Swiss company Bergeon makes the best but they are also very expensive! You can pick up sets on eBay, Amazon, or Ofrei's and other watch websites.
The brand of screwdrivers that the member recommended is a good one; call or email their CS department for more specific information.
Best of luck with your new hobby!

Thanks Ride2Live. That's probably the best. I seriously can't wait. I think BK's going through his backlog since coming back from vacation. I'm still waiting for him to respond to my PM! I'm too excited!!!
