I've been reading about the SD 16600. There are so much knowlege and information in this forum. There was a thread with over 300pages just discussing the SD.

I just picked up a BP SD with gen bezel and other mods. Hopefully when it gets here I will evaluate what's my next action.

I want to thank everyone for sharing all the pictures and info. I'll post my pics once I get the watch and what future mods and parts I'll start collecting for the build.

My build might take forever, hopefully the watch is good enough that no mods are needed right of the bat.

It´s not necessary, just my opinion, it´s got enough and relevant changes already and looks very good, but nothing like holding it in hands first.
There are some gen crowns for sale on m2m, but consider it also needs a stem with the right length etc.

It looks very nice, my opinion is; change the crown and tube for gen. Nothing comes close! I did mine a few days ago and it makes a huge difference in the appearance!
I didn't have to change the stem as mine was the correct length, I did however, have to run a tap through the hole and countersink it for the gen tube to sit flush. Here's a picture of mine.

The later BP Subs had a pretty decent dial and hands. I really couldn't tell the difference between that and the TC. Also, I thought the lume was the same brightness. And the crown guards are pretty good out of the box.

I'd go for a gen insert first off.

Thank you all for the info. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
ive read and seen pictures of the crown guard mod. But I honestly cannot tell the difference between the gen and the rep prior to the mod.

can anyone kindly enlighten me about this mod?

thanks!

I think this is a Swiss 2836-2.
I had the gen of this 15 yrs ago and always regret selling it so I bought one of these and out of the box they are excellent.
i recently bought another with gen insert, gen crown, CG's re-shaped, swapped out bezel click spring and I sent it to Tagfan1 to put in TC dial, TC hands, TC bracelet and H4 pinion. This should make a great rep a fantastic rep.
Here are a few pics in process:

I will post a thread later on the whole build.

Just an update: my SD arrived. after wearing 44mm watches all week when I got the SD it felt too small and light. So off it goes to the for sale section.

i wish it was atleast a 42mm
