Noob SSD V2 Replacement Crystal?

I've got on incoming nearly genenstein SSD. The only flaw I can spot on it is a LEC on a pre-LEC model watch (pre-2000), plus the LEC is of the variety that can be seen from across the room, well, it feels like it can!

I've reached out to a few modders and TDs around replacement non-LEC crystals. Ideally I'd like to swap in a genuine crystal, but I'm not sure it will fit.

Does anyone know if the Noob SSD V2 will accept a gen crystal?

Or the Clark SSD replacement crystal? E.g.,: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=231472469481

I've read all I can find, but some posts are saying yes and other posts that say no. Watch is currently very water resistant, I'd really like to keep it that way.

The gen replacement crystal WILL NOT FIT. There have been a few tries with different crystals and using epoxy to keep it in place. The one thing that I have done is polish the LEC area using different grains of diamond paste to lessen the effect. I'm actually on the market for the SSD v2 stock crystal.

One thing I am sure a few of us could benefit from is a group buy for a custom sapphire crystal with the correct height(which the stock SSD unit lacks) and no LEC, plus better clarity.

If we could find a supplier that is willing to make a custom crystal with the correct thickness needed, and the right angled polish and out of good quality sapphire we will have a winner. I for one would buy at least three crystals for the old SSDs. I posted something like this over at RWg with no replies, then the BP hit the market and everyone forgot about little old SSD V2s

I have one of these classic SSD V2's as well and was told tat the 285 (B25-285) crystal from WSO is the way to go if you are looking for a replacement. Don't have one yet, but plan to get one in the neat future.

Dumb question about polishing off the LEC with diamond paste:

is it on the inside or outside of the crystal?
