That are really nice straps! The most expensive leather straps in the world. But - the thread is made from pure platinum or 18ct gold. People who can buy a Portuguese Perpetual Calendar (for which the strap is made for) don't bother about $3000 for a strap.

I saw that (about the stitching.) Isn't a Portuguese Perpetual Calendar roughly 30k or so? I guess 1/10th of that price for a strap is proportionate, though...

Seems to me though that a $3000 strap should be on a 100k watch!

This is for the 3774 Grande Complication which includes moonphase, chrono, perpetual calendar w/year, and.... minute repeater. Retails for around $250-300K. So yea, this strap is peanuts at that price. No one cares how much the tires cost on a Ferrari...

That's it. People who can afford (besides their normal life costs!) 30k, 80k or even 300k for just only a watch (a useless tool to show the time, every $5 watch shows the time) don't care about 3k or 5k if they like the strap or the accessoire. IWC wouldn't build these straps if there is no market.

FYI- I just had IWC replace my alligator strap on my 3714 during service and they charged me $300....
