Thoughts on this as a daily watch? I've been eyeing this watch for a while, would like to hear your pros and cons.

What's your long term plans for the Hulk? Are you thinking of it as an investment that will get you your money back, or turn a profit? Using it as a daily beater will hurt the long term value, no doubt.

If investment is not a concern, the watch will certainly hold up to daily use.

Not concerned with an investment. Want a daily sporty rolex that is not as popular. You rarely see a hulk/suit combo -- just dont want to be too flashy.

true that!

And this may sound snobbish but here I go anyway:
If you are stressing to wear your Xk$ watch then maybe a gen is not for you, it was made to be worn!

I am planning to buy a new gen in the coming year and guess what, it will be the 116610LV!
I am in suit all week and more casual (chinos etc... ) on the weekend, not scared of how it will look since I tried the gen, this thing is amazing!
So go on and I will not be far behind :punk:

Wear what you want. I've been into watches for a long time and it's my experience that unless it's someone who knows your into watches, 99.99% of people won't notice your watch, much less care if it "goes" with a suit or jeans!

As as far as not wearing your Gen as a daily wearer, why? That's what it's for, it wants to be worn! I personally would never own a watch, rep or gen that I was afraid to wear! My .02

Edit. I do make choices on which watch I'm going to wear based on planned activity, won't wear my GS or gen Omega or Rolexs, etc while building a new deck or working on car. Never based on clothes though.

and by the way, unless your buying very exotic, rare pieces, watches are a horrible investment! If your looking for an investment, your much better off with a good mutual fund or something similar. Your Rolex will hold its value better than most, but that's it. Rolex produces and sell about 1,000,000 watches a year, impossible for them to all go up in value!

I don't think he is talking about the usage or wear and tear. Or if its positive to wear a gen as a daily driver.
I rather think he is asking about the MODEL since it's a tad fancy with its green dial and bezel. And if it would be appropriate to wear it as a daily watch.

Anyway. If you want a sporty watch then the sub is a nice choice. Maybe look into the Gmtc or the 116622(blue dial). I haven't seen many yachtmasters nowadays. I don't think the green is a problem. Stainless steel is still timeless and it draws attention which is nice :)
