You should have bought the gen moon watch, and a rep PO. There are some Franken PO's that are about 95% of the gen. But the moon watch is nowhere near the gen. None of them have hesalite crystals, and the dial spacing is a dead giveaway. If you do get one, get the one with the st1902 movement. The movement alone is worth $138. It is a very solid movement. I'm sure you won't be happy with any of them. But if you want to try, the one I got from silix was really nice. Make sure it is not the budget model.

Screw that, buy whatever you like. If you're buying reps to pass them off as a gen, then you will never be happy with this hobby. My favorite watch that I currently own is a PAM mini-Fiddy with a UBoat dial and hands (vintage-ized on top of that!). Talk about inaccurate. That's dream-world fantasy stuff right there! Who cares?

That watch is now mine!

A mate of mine has a gen with a moon phase on one of the subdials - this is the best version that I've seen - not repped to my knowledge

Been lurking this thread for a while now and just about to buy my first speedy.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the ST19 speedy, but then I just found this on Trevor's site uploaded a week ago: http://www.trwatch.com/product_info....oducts_id=1129

From what I can see from the pictures, differences between this and the normal ST19 rep speedy are:

- obviously the seal at 9 instead of the normal chrono subdial
- closer spacing on subdials
- curved sapphire crystal?
- Omega engraved on the movement

Does anyone here have any experience with his Apollo edition speedy?

So the Omega engraved movement has made a comeback? Interesting. Trevor also lists another manual wind Speedy at $198 but it seems like it doesn't have a very high quality dial. I prefer this version due to the nicely recessed subdials, but the movement lacks the Omega engraving: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/omega-speedmaster-professional-149836

Maybe Lucy at Truetime could source the better dial version with the engraving? I don't know. It's also the reduced size version which might be a dealbreaker for some.

That watch is now mine!

And I miss it! This thread was started in January of 2011. I mentioned on the first page that I eventually wanted a gen. Nine months later I bought a minty used Speedy off eBay (largely thanks to my friend LHOOQ). Unfortunately, I had to sell off my collection to help pay for it. The "Combat Luminor" and another PAM homage absolutely killed me to sell, but I sure love wearing that Speedy!

My advice for Speedy lovers is to start saving money because you will eventually tire of the flawed reps and want a gen. OTOH, there are other gen Omegas that I'll never buy since the reps are so good.
