No problem for the pictures: they are fast iPhone pictures.
Because they are low quality photos, you do not see the depth effect of the magnification so well.
With increased magnification the DW seems to be 1.5mm lower than it actually is. You also get a bit of anamorphic distortion like the gen, esp when tilting the watch and looking at the date from an angle.
The nickname for the DW hole in AP circles is the "Black Hole" as the DW is deeper than most every normal DW.
This was the consequence of the using a piggy-back chrono construction, with DD module on top of a basis movement: the DW was under the chrono module.
Uwe aka fine__dd took the "Black Hole" nickname literally when he applied the black lacquer on the sides of his cyclopses. I have done this on a number of rep cyclopses (coloured the sides matte black), and advise it as it yields a cleaner site line into the date wheel cut out. It basically blocks reflections from the metallic parts cradling the cyclops from the side, and guides eye focus to the bottom of the cyclops.
There is also a trick where the date wheel cut-out is refinished: either brushed or made matte, to reduce reflection from off of it, to "assist" the AR a bit in reducing glare. If you look carefully at photos of gen DW cut outs you will see that many rep DW cut outs are not finished correctly at all. This is because the factory is quite happy to skip over refinishing the DW cut out and leave it either shiny metallic or finish it black. But there are many other finishes on gen DW cut-outs besides this. In any case, if you inspect the sec@12 movement you will see that the DW cut out is basically part of the bridge for the sec@12 transfer mechanism, and not removable. So refinishing it requires removal of that bridge, etc. etc.

As far as cost, without being too exact, the cost of the basic cyclops without AR is--so far--not so much relative to the AR processing, which will be the most expensive part of the component, in the end. The cyclopses I have access to are sold without AR unfortunately. If a high quality double AR is applied, total cost of one cyclops would probably start to climb rapidly, to maybe higher end levels. But let me see. It is the weekend and my queries at the cyclops wholesaler will not be answered till next week, if at all, LOL.
