ROO Date wheel - New Batch

Hey folks,

as I was trying to get my hands on a gen-like noob date wheel, I had to learn that this was a pretty hard task & that these are not cheap.

Therefore, I decided to check with a buddy of mine who's working in a print office, if he could do this job for me. YES he can!

But I would need some additional data from the hardcore AP-freaks:

- Closeups of the date wheel
- If available, the font of the numbers
- I know there are tow different AP date wheels (old / new); are both really raised fonts?

Should I make a batch of the new or old date wheel? I would need a "old" DW for my Chronopassion but I'm interested which kind would be "needed" most!?
Depending on the interest, I'll make a few DW

I think many would prefer the old Noob datewheel for the more classic models. Count me in if you're making the old version!

I've searched high and low myself to find proper date wheels for the franken diver i'm working on. No luck.

Did you get to make some, and if so which ones? Am most interested

Meanwhile, instead of doing what I'm getting paid for I've spend half my day on a vector. With the help of Tr0y who is most kind to offer a critical eye it should work out just fine!

It's a vector so the font should be easily changed to suit either old or new style. The template came of a JF Diver v6 that I killed. Stay tuned!

I have an older Noob date wheel with the serif font I could scan if that would help.

You need a scan of the gen ROO DW, not the Noob A7750 DW. I think micasol has a scan.
Then you need to adjust the size and alignment to a 7750 DW.

am happy to do it, made a workable vector with proper guides so if someone can share a high res scan of a gen DW I can match the font and spacing.

Edge DW not 100% accurate. Use gen DW for scan.

So is Troy's project Shelved/ended? Possibly Replaced by, or in collaboration with, the one here with Ape, just wondering??
The world famous Mikey2008 on RG also wants to create a batch, and Edge mentioned there that hes working with someone from RWI (who I presume to be Ape?)

People need the gen-spec A7750 DWs for their J12s, and also as an improvement over the Noob. There will be problems in production no doubt for all teams involved. Maybe if they pool their talents, the problems could be overcome faster.

I would be interested in this. I have 3 APs, 15400 TF, diver V6 and Noob safari. Safari might be only one worth upgrade

Yep, that's the current date font in all AP's from 2014 onwards.
