EBay. Or go for a 5510 and then you can use a 15xx movement. There seem to be more of those out there.

They turn up bare on the bay fairly regularly.

Just keep in mind that some members on other boards have reported that repairs are often needed and these parts are very hard to find, not to mention expensive since they are so hard to source. That's a big reason why I'm considering going 5510 for my possible grail build down the road. I figure by the time I'm ready it is only going to be worse.

I am also in love with the 6538. It is so beautiful. My grail. The 5510 came out the same year as the 6538 - in 1958 - and is also a big crown. In fact, some folks believe Albert Broccoli's big crown that Sean Connery wore in the films was actually a 5510. Due to this, I personally feel like it can be a good alternative as I plan out my future build. [emoji2]

Ugh, that's so sad. I really need to find one of these. I think if I find it I'm just going to pull the trigger immediately!

Caliber 1030 movements are a little more difficult to source than the caliber 15XX's. But if you're really into the big crown subs then be patient and snatch one up (ebay). Or you can purchase a 6518 datejust and remove the movement from them. Ive seen some sell as low as $700 (non-serviced movement of course). Well the best of luck.
