My New TC Sub V6! [Pic Heavy]

75 days after placing my initial order, my TC Sub V6 finally arrived. And boy was it worth the wait. I sourced a gen insert and it is the insert currently mounted on the sub. It wouldn't fit at first, so I lightly sanded the insert with some 500 grit sand paper until it clicked in. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

It comes nicely packaged

I asked for the insert to be left unmounted since I already had a gen one

I wanted the "real" unboxing experience so I bought a gen Rolex box

Pretty good, right?

I unmounted the bracelet so I could give it a nice soak in some Rock n Roll chain lube, but even without it, it's a work of art

Bracelet back on and feeling oh so smooth...the lube really gave it a gen like sheen and it's very comfortable

Wristie!

The lighting is horrid, but the bracelet really shines. Trust me.

The lume is perfectly applied, matches with the gen pearl and is gorgeous. What more could you ask for?

I've tried on the gen Submariner many times and I have to say, the TC is essentially perfect. Aside from just a few small details, with a gen insert, this could very easily be mistaken as a gen. If you don't have one yet, what are you waiting for?!

Looks great man. As close as the TC is with the standard insert, I think it's just that entire general pearl area that seals the deal with a gen. He's 99% there, but it's that extra 1% pizazz that makes it truly perfect.

Think I will do the same with mine. How easy is it to get the insert out, if it's already mounted?

Very easy, just pop the bezel out (you can use a butter knife), and the insert will pop right out with a little gentle pushing. Replacing the bezel insert is very easy

Eek, you sanded a gen insert? That wasn't necessary! It requires a bit of force, and patience to get the insert in. Same goes for a gen crystal, force, and patience.

I got my gen insert in by wrapping the watch in a wash cloth, and using the edge of a table to get mine in evenly.

Looking awesome. I had one of the earlier TCs and that gen bezel took A LOT of effort. Didn't require the sanding, but it definitely didn't just snap in.

Trust me dude, I put in a ton of effort trying to get the insert to snap in, but it simply wouldn't. The insert was slightly too large to fit. Read around, others have had the same issues with TC's new bezels, they have slight variations in size and sometimes that's enough so a gen insert won't fit.

I have one of these and your picutures make me want to buy another!! Nice!!! I would not sand a Gen insert, but buy an ST insert holder (whatever it is called). THe teeth are much much better. And for as great as a TC is there is always room for improvements of the small details.

Is it worth it to buy a new insert compared to the new TC insert?

A lot of people do but I think for the money you could get a gen crystal and have a better bang for your buck experiance. The TC is pretty damn close and like OP stated, you sometimes can run into the headache of a Gen insert not fitting correctly. If someone has a side by side Gen VS TC insert shot that would really help.

I'm new to this forum but I've been a big fan of TC's work. Today I pulled the trigger and made my purchase of the V6. I know I need patience but I'm very excited to see this in person. What's the average wait time you guys have experienced?

I would say my wait time was pretty average and I waited 75 days for mine. However, he was also inundated with many orders for the LV at the time, so the wait might be shorter now. I'd be prepared to wait 2 months and if it gets to you sooner, then you'll be happy and no disappointed!
