Playing with straps is fun indeed. Some need another strap to look perfect, some already at home with the intended straps they came with.

Good post. I would also add that when opting for non oem croc/leather strap pay attention to fit, cut of the strap, edge finish, stitching. APs are not PAMs imho, they're better not paired with rough or "brutal handmade" straps. APs ask for delicacy.

A master craftsman has spoken. With Panerai, you want Wotancraft, Mays Berlin, Kostas (the three PAM strap handcrafters I like the best), with AP, you want Jakob Straps, xxx (unknown strap maker), and Haut Strapmakerie. I guess I laid out my endorsement program for everyone to see, LOL

Thanks.

I wanted to write a post like this for some time. Just never had time/inspiration. You nailed it here J as i see lots of straps that just don't belong on AP and a lil education never hurts.

Bring it up. This should be seen by all the AP aficionados.

Thanks for this, but I think there are some exceptions to the rules , but more so a matter of personal taste :)
Just to share my OEM straps where I always joke with my friends that the strap cost more than the watch haha

Black Survivor Hornback on the forged carbon diver,
I feel
The hornback gives the watch more character than your straight rubber. This combo works better on the FC than the steel diver imho

My newer addition, which was more of an impulse buy when I was at the service center. A grey hornback with red stitching for my Schumi . I'm still a bit mixed on this one. The grey rubber is super flexible and fitment is a lot better . I'll let you guys be the judge here. I think the light grey is really meant to complement the lighter shade of grey on the gen.

I think the oem strap works very well with your schumi but it makes it scream even more. Saw a guy wearing this combo at town recently, could be you with such a unique pairing hehe.

I went with charcoal grey, namely a darker grey for the Schumi, to match with the darker dial, The only reps I can think a lighter grey might work with is LBJ, RB2, and White Themes. All of the "grey dial" reps are too dark.

Very nice collection indeed! You have a great taste
What watch is the one with the dark blue/purple strap?

I got the box from a friend. Dunno where he got it though. I'll ask him.
My first option was actually Rainer's box. That's just perfection but for now my current one will suffice.

I think I actually got mine from a friend as well. Rainer's always looked good, but very large for my purposes.
