This is my first rep purchase via a RWI TD. I want to give a shout out to the Senior Members on the forum for helping me through this process and my large learning curve.

Below are out of the box pics of my new 45mm Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Sochi 2014 (V6F). Miyota 8215.
My overall impression of the watch is solid cosmetically, however the movement leaves much to be desired.

Wow that is a massive difference. Is this a common problem with the redecorated 8215 movements? Was really keen on either a sochi or a pumpkin myself

I know the CrPO is available in different movements so you can avoid the Miyota. My questions are to the Senior Members. 1. Does this video represent an acceptable movement for a Miyota 8215. 2. If it is not acceptable, shouldn't a TD stop this watch from delivery during their QC process, since we have no video to review the movement during QC.

I remember your other thread about this watch. Glad you got it. Bezel paint looks a little better...different watch?

1. Does it do that at all angles? I'm not a movement expert. I wouldn't think that's a characteristic of the 8215, Does it keep accurate time?
Edit--- I found this post-------> http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=184604 I guess what you describe is "common" with that movement.
2. If they even noticed it....especially if it doesn't do it all the time.

I requested 1 of 2 things, either replace the bezel or have it cleaned. They cleaned the bezel and it looked much better once they removed the excess paint. There is visible flaw in the paint in zoomed view but not while on my wrist.

1. Only at angles of 45 degree or greater. I will have to watch the time. For the pictures I set the time so that more key components could be visible but I will start to track now.

2. I have read threads on the Miyota movements and recommendations to avoid when possible. Unfortunately, this was the watch my brother highly desired and this was the movement it was available with. Least to say I will be avoiding this movement on future purchases.

As mentioned earlier I am impressed with the rest of the fabrication so much so that I am itching for my next purchase. My eyes have been set on the PAM 438 but I am hoping that fix the short hand issue that keeps it from Super Rep Status.

The stutting is normal. Its evident on gens that use this movement. No effect whatsoever on timekeeping. My Sochi actually on my winder now for over 2 months. I reckon the entire month it was not even 1 min fast. Movement is solid if you dont mind the stutter sometimes. You cant notice it when you wear the watch and no1 else will. If you focus on the movement then obviously you will tell.

One thing I was thinking about was that the only difference with the Sochi is the bezel and the closed caseback. IF you want the most accurate Omega rep.........buy 2. Sochi version and ETA clone version. Swap the bezel and caseback onto the ETA 2824 version and you will have a super-rep with perfect sweep.

I have this movement on my coaxial 300. IT DOES NOT STUTTER LIKE YOURS. I'm not sure this video is representative of all these movements. There is clearly an issue on yours that probably warrants getting a service. These are reps folks, I very much doubt that any of them share the exact same defects. Believe me I have a horror story I could share about a 2824 but that would just freak people out wouldn't it?

It was sick ... It got serviced ... It's now fine ... It got married and lived happily ever after ... Just like the above watch could be if it played its cards right.

Eh, it pretty much is. It's known that if you shake the Miyota reps the second hand just stops dead.

I also read somewhere that getting it serviced with the decorated movement is an issue.

Mine does not stutter like the video. It flickers a bit but no more so than the gen. It did stop while I just shook it like a demon possessed but carried on when sanity returned. I can't imagine why it would be subjected to that on a regular basis. Are people actively trying to break their watches?
