Milgauss 116400 GV Noob 1:1 Best Edition Green Sapphire Black Dial on SS Bracelet A2836

This is one of the watches I am looking to add to my first set of purchases.

My Question: Is this the best version of this Rep? Is the A2836 a preferred movement for this rollie or is the ETA 2836? A preferred TD (I am currently looking at intime & pure-time)?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I just want to make sure I am making a solid decision before making my first purchase.

Brandon (Tampa)
?Is it okay to add links to TD pages?

Yes, it's the best. the A2836 is just a clone of the ETA 2836. I use the clones normally, since the "Swiss ETA" are just reconstructed, the A2836 are brand new. yes, TD pages are okay, non-TD are not okay. (I think).

Check on the Rolex forum here, there's a Rolex Milgauss guide.

Thanks mclarendude. I have read the Milguass guide. My concern with the guides is that they are typically older and therefore I feel like I am missing out on the newly released models unless they are reviewed in the responses.
Example: The 116400 GV Noob 1:1 Best Edition with A2836 appears to have added to Pure-Time as of 11/22/2014.

Then, yes, the one you're talking about is the latest and best rep as of yet.

Wasn't there a tutorial somewhere about coloring the edge of the crystal with a special type of paint? Gen picture below. This Noob version has the green AR on it which is wrong. I suppose you can use a cape cod cloth to remove it though.

I am curious about the paint. As I have looked at the watch, it seems like they would have added several layers of the green AR to the sides so that it would appear green, per the photo you shared Ruperkt.

I dug up the article and found the exact pen used. It's a glass paint pen. One is on order and on the way to me. The real trick is the correct lume on the black dial GV. Most seem to have a darkish green on the 3-6-9 marker. It's supposed to be blue. I'll order up a GV here in a few days with the intention of doing the crystal mod. To do it correctly, the crystal has to come out, get colored, and bake in the oven @ 180 degrees for 40 minutes. That cures up the paint supposedly to be "dishwasher safe". I'll post about it when it's done.

To follow up rupkert has a great thread going on this mod, search and find it. In my review the j12 seems superior to the noob so that is where my money will land. With discovering the paint and having tested it out with success, I am curious how it will appear from above. The paint looks solid from the side so looking forward to your pre & post mod pics.

Is your versiom from intime running this fast? Or is it a common problem with rep?

I have two Milgauss reps coming from Tony. I am looking forward to seeing them. Once they get here and get worn a bit I'll post up my amateur opinions and let the community tear them up.

I have a Milgauss from WBK, and it's running pretty much spot on. I've gained one minute in three days. I've been really pleased with it. The lume is wrong, mine is green throughout. I've had it for around two weeks. I'll post some pictures over the weekend.

It's pretty common to see the watches running a bit slow or fast. Anything over 5-7 I have regulated. But on a machine and on your wrist can change things quite a bit. Regulating the movement is pretty easy, more important is getting a watch that looks correct and runs well.

Thanks Ruprekt.

May I ask how did you remove the bezel? Most comments were saying to just use a knife to pry it open?!

I m shocked the delivery just took 3 days with excellent working condition.

You can use a razor blade to pry it up from the sides to get it started then a thin bladed knife to remove it. Putting it back you need a press. Make sure the bezel goes down straight and not at an angle or you'll scratch the green edge of the crystal.
