Sticker on the back case or no sticker? What is right?

Hello,
there are many reps of the Submariner outside. I saw BP Factory and Noob Factory Submariners with the golden sticker with the model number on the back case and with no stickers. What is here right or wrong? Sticker or no sticker?

Rolex stopped with the stickers about 12 years ago so it would be strange to have one with a brand new sticker attached to it. Gen-owners used to peel it away and store it together with the box etc.

whats a black engraved fold over clasp?

Look at the pictures in the thread that i post the link. There is a sticker on the backside and the engraving in the fold over clasp is not black.

Here the link to the BP Factory.

Many years I was clueless about things that would add to value retention of gen watches.
I cut the string with Rolex seal off, peeled of the sticker and tossed it out. The box, someone liked it and it was merely clutter to me. Years later tossing the receipt in a wave of clearing out old paper files. Ouch.. Now I keep it all but have no use for rep boxes with the watch. Its silly to me, unless you have a gen watch.
Lol... I know this has nothing to do with your question OP but it brought up this old memory... Carry on :)

those are 2 different watches.

1 is a 16610 and the other is a 116610

clasps for both look fine to me..

Yeah the number on the sticker for the BP is wrong, it should be 16610. The clasp is correct for the watch though.

Yes

16610 = aluminum bezel, skinny hands and the small hour markers.

116610 = ceramic bezel, wider min hand and large hour markers.

You should prob do some research on the differences in the models. I barely knew the differences when I bought a subC (116610) but once I knew, I hated it. Now I have a TC 16610 and it's by far my fav watch.

Yup, no 116610 should have a hologram sticker and as has been pointed out at this juncture neither should a 16610 that's been worn.

Yes, as pointed out above, at this point in time,[2014], no Rolex Submariner should have a 'new' sticker on the caseback. An exception would be a brand new 16610 that was put away with the intention of keeping 'factory new' for collectors later on. This Subs, I would like to point out, are as rare as chicken teeth and are rarely, if ever, seen. So don't raise red flags ! Take that sticker out !!!!

And in case you're like me and hate the stickers because they scream FAKE across the room, even on a gen, peel off what you can and then take nail polish remover to the rest. Problem solved.

Yah, it's going to wear off anyway in no time at all if you wear it a lot. I guess if you buy a model of a version that would have came with a sticker it would be correct, but still I don't see the point. It's going to wear off, and nobody sees it anyway. I take them off just like the guys said above.
