Before I start.. Mod, please move the thread if I posted this on the wrong section ..

So just straight to the point .. I dropped my Steinhart and I broke it

I was thinking to mod the watch and do the dial swap .. or salvage the movement and put it into a pro hunter case set from Yuki.

Did any one has done similar thing before? Will the ETA 2893-2 fits to a rollie case?

Can some one please help to advise me on this? :(

Your help is much appreciated.

Thank you!

Doesn't look like a big damage to me. I would contact Steinhart and try to get new seconds hand. For marker @12 just open the watch, take out the movement and dial and simply attach it back with drop of glue maybe to make sure it won't happen again. Too expensive watch to throw it away and use just a movement from it IMO.

I agree on fixing it. But it will fit in a rep case just fine. I've got an ETA 2893 in a Noob GMTIIC case.

I was thinking the same as well.

I have written to Steinhart in parallel asking for a hand replacement and still waiting for their reply.

But yeah, I think the watch is too expensive for a case swap.

Thanks for the input anyway, Shelby!

You can use any ETA second hand if Steinhart isn't helpful. Just put on a Rolex style hand from Clark or WSO.

No problem ctvr. ;) I agree with above, Rolex style second hand will fit good on it.

Is that going to be long enough? If this is a later model Steiny, its a 42mm case and larger dial than a Sub.

The GMTs are constantly out of stock and very sought after. No matter what, I wouldn't part this out.

This is fixable without too much trouble. When it´s open You could measure the exact dial size. Maybe drop in a rolex replacement dial - that would be interesting if the size fits.

They're not the same size. I have a gen 16610 dial for a build and a Steiny Ocean One Vintage. Steinys are 42mm case size.

Its best to just fix this. They're going for significantly more than retail and Steinhart will not have stock until summer. At the very least, you could probably pay to have it fixed and sell it relatively quick if you wanted to.
