I am considering buying a gen gold speedmaster similar to this one

how do you guys feel about the speed master in yellow gold. I thought I'd be ok without my YG DDii but I need to fill the void of the gold watch. Not sure what I'll get though. Im kinda liking the looks of this watch and the price.

I think that's a very nice looking watch. It has a lot of classic looks about it: the case like a Daytona, the face and hands bring to mind certain IWC, PP and Glashutte to me. I think it's a winner!

I agree it shares a lot of te characteristics of other much more expensive watches at a relatively low price. I'm really liking the moon phase too.

The moon phase is where I got the PP from, very classy in my opinion, and I like it more the longer I look at it.

It's beautiful. Omegas and especially speed masters are becoming my favourite watches. They are just timeless

Everyone has their own taste, but for me, sport chronograph are tool watches with roots in auto racing and aviation. I have always thought that sport chronos look odd and out of place in gold . That being said, this is one of the best I have seen. The proportion and dial layout of his watch gives it a dressier feel. Moon phases and triple dates don't say "tool watch" to me and look nice in gold.

Doesn't matter how anyone feels other than the watch's owner. Myself, I do not like most of the Speedmaster variants (even the newer 9300 models) other than the Pro moon watch. I can't wait to get mine back from its service.

I agree with a lot of you guys on both sides of this discussion. I typically prefer sport watches in steel but I was on the hunt for a full gold gen that wouldn't cost me 20k and stumbled upon this. I like that it's sporty enough to wear with jeans and a polo but it also has many of the characteristics of a much more expensive dress watch. I think my biggest issue will be the size it's only 38mm so it's on the small side but I intend on using it as a dress watch so the size might not be a bad thing. I'm still a little ways out from pulling the trigger but this has been my favorite so far. I'd really like to grab a reverso but I don't have the cash to get one in the size I want. I'm open to anyone else's suggestions as well.

I like Omega and this one is classy. Without looking at the name, I would think it was a Rollie because of the gold case.

Looks like a dress watch mated with a sport watch....not digging it.

Until you said 38mm I was going with the 'no' brigade. I prefer sports watches in stainless, only dress watches should come in gold. However, I can just about make an exception for this one. Omega is my favourite brand too, so I really should be all over it, but I'm not. I'm sure it's a great watch though and if you like it then go for it.

Just way too much going on for me. I also really don't like that fantasy Roman 4 ... why do they all do that? If you like very busy and 'loud' watches then go ahead. It has to be down to what you enjoy wearing ... Not for me though.

From what I've read I believe it's a symmetry thing, in that "IV" doesn't match up in size as well as "IIII" does to "VIII". No idea if that's the actual reason though.

As far as the actual piece goes, I'm not feeling it personally, but if you like it OP then that's all that matters. This forum wouldn't be very interesting if we all liked the same thing... or in this case, replicas of the same thing.

The more I think about it the more I think I'm better off waiting until I can afford something I really want. I think I'm gonna hold off on this unless i find one for a total steal.

I do need a dress watch pretty quickly so I think I'm gonna grab one of these two reps not sure which one yet. I'm leaning more towards the a Lange as I would think it's less recognizable than the Patek.
