Do you claim your rep is genuine?

I thought it would be good to start this thread to get a discussion going as I've not seen anything about this topic yet.

So, what do you guys do?
A) try to pass your rep off as a gen and when asked say it's gen
B) tell people that you're wearing a rep
C) avoid mentioned anything about you watch

please explain why you do what you do as I think it will be interesting to see what people do with regards to this topic.

Also, it you have anything else to add, please do so

Ah damn. I tried searching but whatever I put in it said that it was either too long, or too short and something else. I tried googling the topic too, hoping that something from this forum would come up, but unfortunately nothing.

If someone knows where to find the thread on this topic, please point in the right direction. I'd appreciate it.

I also get the same reply whenever I search on RWI. The search engine works well on RWG and RG though.

Although my rep watches are not (admittedly) perfect, for someone to "call me out", they would have to possess knowledge that 99.99% of the population do not have, and violate my "comfort zone" to get a close enough look at my watch ........ Ain't happenin' ......:finger::mousepanic-r:

Let's say we are colleagues, during a lunch break I ask if I can see your watch. You can hardly reject that? At my workplace a lot of people collect watches and they would be able to tell the difference I think. The finish and small but existing flaws does make a difference.

It has happened .. a colleague saw my JF blue dial YM on my wrist a few weeks ago ... he owns a beautiful two tone gen blue dial sub (older .. vintage 2000) ... he said to me "Ya know, I always wanted a Yachty Rolesium, but that is the best looking YM I have seen" .. he even went on about the tone of the bezel.., BUT I never violate the cardinal sin by wearing a rep into a gen AD .. I did it as a noob, didn't get called out, but out of respect, will never do it again ..

Generally you can find most topics on reps in General Discussion as the two links which have already been posted. Sometimes you might need to scroll through several pages but think of it as a large replica library cause you never know what other interesting topics you will stumble upon. Plus, RWI probably has more stuff in it's attic that the other guys, ghosts included.

You'll get a variety of answers to your question, but personally? No. I don't pass it off as a gen if asked about it. On the other hand, I don't volunteer that info either... .

Probably Russian Akula II or Kilo class (kinda outdated thought).

But I prefer Subway submarine sandwiches.

To clarify, I just don't want people to think that I'm wearing a $25k watch. For me, nothing good can come out of it.

I always say its gen, but that is because i only own franken watches with gen dials/bezel inserts/crystals etc. To my family and closest friends, I say its a franken rep.

Ive only ever been asked about my watch by a stranger once... and i lied and said it was gen - i spun a story about how i bought it second hand for a steal because it had been mistreated, and i got it serviced and now its running great... regreted it ever since, cause now i have to wear that watch every time i go back to that place in case i see him again

Everyone i know knows i collect reps because i like to show them off, and strangers dont really ask generally, so it doesnt come up often.

Every time people ask me whether my watches are gen I will tell them it's fake (giving that sarcastic look) then they will all think it's gen and well you're not lying too LOL
