What options do I have to repair these tells?

I recently purchased a new CrPO from MarvellousReplica and have a few issues with the dial, which I was assured is normal for these watches.

I originally rejected one watch on the basis that the bezel alignment was very obviously out, and after some to-ing and fro-ing we agreed to get a replacement.

The replacement was similarly imperfect (the dial's still a bit out) but I've learnt to live with it. However the two tells below are bugging me as one is significantly more obvious than the other.

First up are some marks to the lume (bezel alignment issue is apparent here, but what the heck!). Can this be repaired?

Up next is something far more obvious, making me shy away from allowing people too close a look at the watch. I've attempted to take a picture to demonstrate the issue, but unfortunately it's one of those things that's far more obvious when further away from the watch.

Taking a step back and looking at it at arm's length it's clear the "9 o'clock" marker is wonky, as I've feebly attempted to demonstrate with two lines drawn to the 44-second and 46-second lines.

Hopefully you'll be able to make it out.

Now I understand these are replicas and should never be compared to the quality of the gens, however I'm asking for options as to repair these?

Can the 9-o'clock marker be moved? Are gen dials available? Would they be a straight swap?

It's what's otherwise spoiling what's turned out to be a truly fantastic watch.

Many thanks!

In this thread you can see how the big index are attached. I think the small are the same with 1 pin.

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=191934

If its attached with 1 pin you can turn it a few degrees to the left.

The price for a gen dial is about 600$ and i think it won't fit without modification.
You can get a relume for your index at 12 so the problem were fixed.

I think your watch isn't really good and not really bad. It's normal i got 4 different QC pics and no one was perfect.
It's like lottery and you must have bit luck to get a perfect watch.

If you can't live with the mistakes you can look for a watchmaker here or sell it in the forum and hope the next are better.

Well...I understand that it's frustrating....u really need some luck to get a proper rep. But imo these mistakes are not dramatic, im sure you can almost not see it...your watch is still great.I would not open it. Nobody wants to hear the truth, but these are chinese reps.

You're pointing out things that 99% of people would never spot.
You could get a relume but that's up to you bc it's not cheap.

Stop scrutinizing your rep and just enjoy it.

I hope you don't get a loupe. Sooo many flaws when you look at most reps under 10x

Guess I failed at putting my point across correctly!

This isn't a complaint post, and I've acknowledged the fact that reps can't be perfect in my original comments - however if someone's inclined to take the time, effort and cost of making it perfect why shouldn't they? After all, that's what a franken watch is right? My questions are more about how to begin doing so.

So it looks like the answers I'm after are a relume and possible DIY attempt at aligning the marker. Thank you cgnrep!

Have you spoken to your TD about the lume? What are his thoughts and options for you?

The 9 O'clock thing is not noticeable unless you point it out so I wouldn't be to worried about that. However, if it annoys you sufficiently that you feel something needs to be done about it, again, have a chat with your TD. See if he could sort out all 3 problems for you?

As for "the road to Franken'ville", and for all you young guns out there, no this is not a Crosby & Hope film, (something inside tells me this joke has flown over many a head and is wasted on the torpid humour of the modern youth). Anyhow, I digress, getting back to my point, I think that if you have the passion, resources, energy, time and ability to navigate the road to Franken'ville that you should do so.

I would love to set off on such a road trip but alas I do not have the expertise or finance to to complete such a journey.

If it is within your ability to do so however, there are plenty of people on this forum who would be happy to assist you and offer their guidance and support.

a re-lume will fix the mess up on the 12 marker. it wont fix the one on 9.

a gen dial would look amazing but as someone mentioned, its not cheap and it will need to be modded to fit.

i say just get it relumed.

The tells you point out are very small.

I would do either of the following:

1) send the dial for a relume; either Kwazy or Kenny depending on where in the world you are. Both will most likley remove the indicies from the dial to apply the lume, which will address the '9' marker at the same time. Plan to get the hands done too so they match. Cost: probably a bit over $100.00

2) replace dial with a genuine one. Aparently $600.00. If it was me doing it, I would get a gen dade wheel as well at the same time and also a new Eta 2892-A2 movement, which is the base for the co-axial calibers (although running at 28,800 where the co-ax runs at a lower rate) Total: save for a used Genuine one.

Carefully with the advice chaps. This is a rep of the 8500 caliber. It is not based on any eta movement ( unlike the 2500 caliber which is) as it is omega's 1st in house movement. This also limits your gen mods. Gen dial won't fit a 2836 ( you would have to be a genius to make it fit ). 2 of the gen hands will. Gen date wheel won't. I have rep ( noob) and gen lum for comparison and there isn't much in it. Gen crystal is better but not by much either. Gen bezels are good but only for noob not bp. I'm guessing this is noob as it has correct neutral ar and it's a 42mm.

But isn't the rep 8500 based on the rep 2500? (which is based on the rep 2824-2)

Either way, you need a 2892-A2 and NOT a 2836 movement for any chance to use a gen dial and date wheel. A 2892-A2 date wheel does not fit a 2836 or (2824 for that matter) movement. I have not worked on an 8500 (I have torn down and rebuilt a 2500) but my understanding of it is that the 8500 is a 2500 with two barrels. I am not aware of the dial feet being repositioned. If the feet were moved, then the 2500 dial will not work on the 8500 movement and vice-versa. I would not be completely suprised if the feet moved to accomodate the two barrels and there is no big deal since the main plate needs to be totally new anyway for two barrels.

I stand with either re-lume it or save for a used gen. I went for a used gen myself, but not this thing; the original Planet Ocean 45.5 in my case.

I would leave it as is. Really minor defect.

If it bothers you that much though, go with a relume. A gen dial will cost you 2 times the cost of the watch. Gen CrPo are very expensive.

As for the bezel you can try remove the insert and align it perfect. You have to remove the bezel to that mod.
