We're into accurate reps, and a lot of people on here look at rep collecting as more of a hobby. To them its collecting and modding watches they wouldn't normally be able to afford, and they don't do it to show off. I mainly buy reps bc I want people to notice them, but I don't do it half-assed like that guy.

Well he was bragging about it knowing full well it's a rep, lying not only about its authenticity, but also where he got it from (Menara Sudirmam is a service centre, not an AD)

Wearing and liking reps is one thing, lying to a long time friend, and badly at that too, is another

Why don't you tell him that there are less than a dozen made in the world today and Rolex never made them for the consumer and that each one is worth over 1 million dollars. Tell him you know quite a bit about this watch. Ask him how his "dealer" got a hold of this million dollar watch, and then ask him how much he paid for it, and what this the provenance of this watch. Then ask him how he got a hold of a prototype.

Tell him you are going to let all your FB friends that your friend has a million dollar prototype, not available for public consumption Rolex and that there is only 10 ever made, and he has one bought of an Indo "dealer"

Then see if he'll shut up.

Nothing more to add. No way anyone is wearing a gen deep sea challenge. I guess the love bracelets and the Hermes bags are of the same source.

I sent him a PM last night not to embarrass him. I told him I was watching out for him and told him that I hoped he didn't spend more than $300 for it. Also told him that the watch was never released for the public. He claims on the PM reply that it is legit and came with box and papers, and that it is the older version and they had it in the vault. Who the xxxx is he kidding. He is either lying or got majorly ripped off.

This 'friend' deserves to know the truth first privately as you did, and now an embarrassment post on fb from you praising his watch and how envious you are he had got such a special watch, worth $1m and to plead him with sharing his (obvious) privileged contacts so you also might one day get something special that nobody else could otherwise acquire.
This 'friend' of yours is insulting your intelligence and he knows you called him out.

I sent him another PM. Told him he could get scammed buying a fake with real box and papers. The way he spends money I know all his crap are reps. He's a hair dresser with part ownership of a salon. No way he is making that bank.
I know we all here purchase reps, but to check in at a Rolex dealer at FB and brag that you got a rare Rolex is just plain stupid.

Lol wow.

If you're gonna try to pass off a rep as a gen, at lesst use one that's available to buy.
Sad that he's still fighting it. I really hope your buddy didn't get ripped off

He's embarrassed. Give him a day to think about it, then give him an out again by suggesting he got ripped off unknowingly. Give him every opportunity to admit it "might" be fake and still allow him to save face.

This exactly is the reason why I never buy reps of watches that I could not afford gens of.
