…..And is this a common problem with the 2836 movement branded as Omega 8500??

(QUOTE)
“the movement have slight stuttering problem between 2-5 in different orientation (common problem with these 8215 since the hands are heavier)â€

Is that the same watch as:

2836 isnt decorated to 8500.
Thats the miyota version you are talking about.
Thats the AT factory version.

Even i read on another thread of the miyota 8215, the second hand stuttering problem doesnt happen in a few models whose seconds hands are light, if the seconds hand is heavier its more prominent.
Even i dunno if this is true or not.
But the stuttering thing has been reported several times by several members. It is because of indirect seconds drive which is a cheaper movement. However it has also been confirmed that this stuttering hand shall NOT affect the timekeeping of the watch.
It may pause for 2 seconds but when it starts it will skip 2 second markers and then start.
It is a workhorse movement used in many cheaper gens also.

Sorry mate. Not moaning at anyone really. Just miss information on the forum is as usual rife !

The 8215 does indeed bounce around on the second hand. This has nothing to do with the weight of the hand per se. It's the gear lash in the cog that drives the second hand gear. If the tolerance where made tighter it effects the mechanical resistance of the movement screwing power reserve and accuracy so. ..... They leave lots of space between the teeth of this gear mesh. Down side is the second hand gets thrown forward and can then bounce back again because of the mechanical play in the gear mesh. Heavier / longer hands can exaggerate this issue but are not the course.

2836 all the way mate.
