I'd like to buy an Explorer I 214270 (39mm), but I'd like to optmize my budget.
I thought to buy the cheapest one ( http://puretime-asia.com/product/explorer-i-214270-2010-39mm-v1-a2813/ ), relume indexes, buy a set of hands with blue lume and change the bracelet.
I have a few questions:

- The case and bracelet are the same as the more expensive models?

- Which is the best oyster in circulation? Noob (as), Yuki. Or this one is okay?

- Hands and dial for 2813 are compatible with 2824?

All suggestions are appreciated

Seems to me that by the time you do all that hunting for parts and modding you might as well have bought the newest top o the line model. At least the one before this newest one released. Seems like sometimes the cheap project turns out to be more hassle and near the same cost to the point the actual savings are negligible. Just my two cents.

I would not do a relume, the explorers are quite difficult to do. The lume will turn out uneven a lot of the time.

go for the previous model with a 2824 movement,

The hands in a 2813 movement are not interchangeable with the ETA based 2824-2 / 2834-2 / 2836-2 movements. On the cases and bracelets being the same, well you have a better chance of getting a bit more quality if you go up to the more costly ones with the ETA based movements. Fit and finish and rehaut engraving alignment are usually better done. I am an Explore I afficonado, but after going full circle on all the Explorer I reps available, settled on an Explorer I 36mm with no rehaut and a Swiss ETA 2824-2 and can't be any happier.

And yes... I'll considere the 36mm, the comparo by silverclaw is convincing

it's unbelievable there is not a good rep of 21470., it would be very easy to make

Thank you mate, not noticed before. It's awesome. It looks very nice and neat, but is too expensive...
