Hi, I have a 2824-2, now the problem is, it will not hand-wind. It does everything else , such as hacks, time-sets, date-sets. I have already checked out the keyless looking for any obvious problems and redone the keyless but still cant get it to hand-wind.
Does anyone have any suggestions as there may be something that I am not aware of or missed.

Thanks razzer

Have you got the spring element of the combined setting lever in the correct position?, ie. behind the yoke

Like ado213 said --- I think there's a step in the keyless process where you're supposed to "set" that spring. I tried it and couldn't tell if I was setting it or not, so just moved on. Now I've got the same problem re: winding. Fortunately the watch runs strong with just a few shakes so its not really a concern. I just wear it for 10-15 min before setting.

There is also a set screw that needs to be "tightened" the correct way or the manual winding will not work. If you look at the keyless, the gear directly at 6 o'clock from it. This screw should be tightened counter clock wise/Anti-clockwise and try to use the crown to wind.

I would say that the most likely problem is that the spring on the combined setting lever is not correctly seated against the yoke, as others have mentioned, but there is another possible explanation that I have run into a few times.

If you accidentally use too long of a screw to hold the balance bridge in place, the bottom of that screw will prevent the combined setting lever spring from correctly pressing against the yoke, sometimes even when it looks like it is. I have done this more than once, and you end up with the same symptoms that you mentioned; the time setting and date setting work, but it will not handwind.
