Thread title pretty much explains it. About to pull the trigger on the Cr PO but had some questions that I don't think have been definitively answered.
- How resistant to scratches is the Cr insert?
- Is there a less resistant (relative to ceramic) clear coat on top?
- Is it really ceramic or some other material that looks like it?
I know my BP ceramic sub was almost scratch proof. After swapping inserts I tested the one I removed to destruction. No amount of vigorous scraping and scratching with a razor blade would ever leave a mark. Only by being really hamfisted and gouging at one of the edges could I manage a chip. So, I guess the ceramic on the BPs at least was tough enough and kind of behaved like ceramic under stress. That is, it might chip or crack before scratching and was highly scratch resistant. My hope is the noob PO inserts are likewise robust?
And some gen pics for the heck of it.... :cool-new:
