Rolex GMT Master 2 116710BLNR best rep?

Hi there,



I've just seen the new rolex black and blue gmt master 2s and they look fabulous! I had a look around pure time and they do one and in-time also have one. I was wondering if someone could tell me which is the best one out of the two in terms of looking as close to gen as possible?

The watch looks great on your wrist! May I ask which TD did you use to get that GMT?

Thanks, I might start contacting him. I have concerns about which TD to use because I am worried about customs seizing the watch here in the UK. I know most of the TDs offer replacements but I just think its a hassle. Seems like you have no issues receiving yours (also EU)

That is not true.
I have had one Confiscated by UK customs in the past.
It was a few years ago and is very rare that this happens

It never happened again, just pointing out nothing is 100% certain.

I bought the BP version from Sead.

It is a great watch, I stripped mine and rebuilt it to ensure everything is correctly aligned, and it is as perfect as a rep can be out of the box IMO.

UK customs are the best in Europe for reps, I'm yet to have an issue.

Also, thanks a lot for the advice from fellow UK members! Seems like risk of seizure to the UK is pretty low.

I had the BP Version and it was very good. Bracelet was good and the crystal was as well. BP watches are a crap shoot. You can get a great one , or a pile of shit.

As above, I meant to say only buy reconditioned ETA from BP as their clones have a bad reputation. No idea why, just been told that by a few TDs!

I agree with the BMW760.
The crystal height though on this particular edition is wrong.
Gen ceramic model's crystal have height equal to the insert.The crystal is not heigher like 16610 etc.
So either you get it and mod it with a thinner gasket, even trim your existing one, or not take at all.
Thay seem to make the same mistake in the noob sub c v3 although v2 was fine and the BP ceramic subs

That's not true its not perfectly flush with the insert as you are saying... Some BP's come with the proper rise right out of the box and some take some modding.

All of my BP ceramic watches have great bracelets without any clasp issues, but varying crystal height - some better than others.

I am seeing way too many threads about these 116710BLNR's - just pull the trigger people, I am not seeing any negative feedback about these except for the occasional complaint regarding QC issues... These are some of the best OOTB Rollie reps around!

Crystal height is wrong in both BP subs and BP Gmt.This is a known issue here in the forum.
I thought it wouldn't bother me in the first place.But it was to bad for me.
But as i said before it can be fixed with trimming the gasket or changing it.
This will make AR on cyclops to look better.Even the Date mag looks better then

Iám really no Rolex Guy and truly no Rolex expert, i just bought that GMT II because my other Rolex Noob Explorer II is since 12 weeks at domi for a movement service and iám just bored to wait, so i bought that one because i like the black/blue bezel. i dont really know how many flaws that BP GMT has, but i really like it how it is. here some better pics.

The watch looks amazing close up actually! The crystal looks like its lining up with the inserts as well. I think I will go for it and just make sure QC carefully.

Also, when you said you have Swiss ETA movement, is it a new movement or refurbished?

its hard to say. my movement looks very new. it could be a new one but i dont know. but new or refurbished....the movement runs like a champ.

Listen guys , you can argue about crystal height all you want. If it's off by a **** hair , no one cares or will notice except for you. The real flaw in all these GMT's is the incorrect hand stack. That's a flaw that's more visible than anything mentioned. But even with that , I still say it's a very nice rep. Wears well and has a great wrist presence. Once again 99% of people will never know.
