Just picked this up and need a 20/18mm strap in black. Is it worth spending the price of the watch on a Camille fournet strap or peter watchacc for a bit less?

Or what is my best budget option. The watchboys iwc straps are all sold out.

If you don't want to spend $200 on a strap maybe Donerix (Hamilton Leather) could be your best bet.

I've got two black genuine alligator straps from peterwatch.acc - one on a gray dial Big Pilot and the other on a PAM 029. They are both of excellent quality and when you look at them really close, the intrinsic beauty of the expensive leather is clearly evident. That being said, I also have a couple of inexpensive straps from Bob - one on an IWC 3717 Pilot and the other on a Mark XVI Spitfire - they look great and although not the same quality as peter's, play the part just fine. How much you decide to spend on a strap should be about the quality of the replica and how important the details are to you. Most people looking at your wrist will not be able to tell the difference between a $200 strap and a $30 one - IMHO.

CousinsUK has a Bellini genuine alligator strap for $83 shipped. I have it on my Seiko Sarb and it looks fantastic. There's some rave reviews of it on other (gen) watch sites

20mm to 18mm like you want.

I just bought a replacement strap on eBay for $69 for my new VC Tourbilllon watch. It says "Hadley Roma MS825 Brown Genuine Alligator":

But I really have some doubts if that strap is actually made from a real alligator and not from regular leather embossed as alligator. Usually genuine crocodile or alligator straps are sold for twice that price.

$69 sounds right, circular pattern are usually cheaper than square pattern.

Thanks everyone. I also got a response from the seller saying that it is a genuine alligator skin. Hope it will fit my watch and the VC buckle size correctly: 20mm/18mm. I will post a picture after it arrives.

They made me 2 custom ones on my design for less than 50$ shipped in real crock and they are very very nice.
The Santoni or other famous brands will surely be better, but I simply cannot justify my self to pay them like 7-10x one made by these guys
