Hello. I've just joined as I'm thinking about doing my first bit of watch fiddling. I haven't had a watch for a couple of years but I'm looking to get another. Budget is ultra low but my requirements in a watch are extensive and picky (like most things in life), which after a bit of googling made me realise I must create my own using a solid donor.

I live in rural Australia - not quite outback - and other obsessions (more accurate than the dirty and demeaning word hobby) including restoring and using old trucks, carpentry, horses, metalwork (have a lathe), leatherwork, analogue photography, hunting and just enjoying the bush and all other wild places.

This forum looks like it is perfect for any help I'll need and inspiration!

Thanks guys, yep doing lots of reading so I don't ask those same questions someone asks once a week... And yes too many interests but I can't help my obsessive nature!

yep, and printing in the dark with a red light in chemical baths. B&W analogue is still a long way ahead digital IMO, but that's several thesis worth of arguments and it's only my opinion...

Thanks guys!
