My PAM love is getting deeper by the day. I originally owned a few 44mm PAM Luminors and strap shopping was easy with all prospects being 24mm. I just recently bought a PAM 127 and a PAM 388, which fit 26mm and 27mm straps respectively and I am ready to hop into some high end straps.

From reading it appears that 26mm straps fit decently on the Rads. I ordered a few 26/26mm from Micah with hope to rock them on both new watches.

Maybe I'm crazy, or picky, or spoiled, but for some reason I feel like I need a tapered strap properly fit for the Rad in order to bring it to its full potential. So, 27mm/24mm has been on my radar.

Could I squeeze a 27mm strap onto a Fiddy without doing damage to the strap? Eghh!

I was toying with buying an OEM JV strap but am going to settle with a more affordable aftermarket contender. Peter.Watchacc has some handsome looking Nubuck Gator straps that appear to be a good value. So, 27mm/24mm for maybe Rad only. Or, 26mm and swap between Fiddy and Rad?

I just did that fitment of a gen JV onto my fiddy. It fits very well, even though it says 27/22 as the strap. It does not rub at all on the lugs and I could not be happier with the outcome.

Fiddy is 27mm at the lugs so any 27mm gen or aftermarket strap should fit like a glove.

1mm is only .04 inches guys, or 0.02" per side of strap. Barely noticeable. Fiddy case spec is 26mm

This looks very nice. I have read that over time these nubuck straps tend to shrink in size. How old is your JV strap?

I tend to agree with you. 2mm difference won't work. I've tried to stuff a 24mm strap into a 22mm gap and it wasn't pretty. 1mm, on the other hand, might be small enough to not cause any fitment issues.

My other thought though is, why have I not seen any 47mm Luminors with 27mm straps until the post above?

Anyhow, found out today that Peter.Watchacc insists that his 26/24mm is THE combination for a 45mm Rad. He says they are slightly wider than 26mm when they make them?

Would you guys be ordering a tapered strap for the Rad or would you stick to 26/26mm straps?

For Rad, 26 or 27 work fine though I prefer 27/22. The taper works on the Rad case imo. If you have a chunkier automatic Rad, 26/24 should look fine. My 380 comes with a 27/20 OEM I believe. I wore a 26/26 on my 309 for a bit and looked OK, but it is a 47mm case...
For the Fiddy case, this is the first time I've seen a tapered strap on one. Looks decent!
OEM is 26/26 which is why people (myself included on my 217) stick to that.
The rule: wear what you like!

Thanks for the input. Yes, I have the 388, chunkier Rad. Like the original post; I love the taper for the Rads, but hate spending the money on three different kinds of straps (24mm, 26mm, and 27mm taper).

I just need to suck it up and quit the whining.

Anyone else have photos of a 27/24 or 27/22 fitted on a Fiddy?

^^^ This is why I am stopping myself from buying any 44mm PAMs. Managing straps between 45 and 47 is maddening enough!! :)

I just got this strap this past Saturday, so I have only had it a few days. I will monitor to see if it shrinks at all, but I suspect not since it was slightly used when I got it. Personally, I would stick to the tapered strap. For the 24mm strap, I prefer 24mm for the entire strap. But on 26mm, I like the taper as the all 26mm strap is a little large for me.
