Guys, I just have to share this with you. I train dogs on the side. Leash training, obedience training, basic commands. etc............Training a rottie pup for this lady right now, and her husband is in Afghanistan working. He's there throughout the year and comes home just a few times a year.

Anyway. he received a rolex this past year for his service with his company. So the other day while picking up her dog the wife tells me about the rolex because she sees my explorer II that I'm wearing and asked if I like rolex's. LOL. Of course I say yes, it's my dream watch and always has been,, and my favorite since a child has been a TT datejust.

She tells me to wait a minute, and she runs upstairs. Comes back down with a Green wave rolex box in her hands and gives it to me to open. There before me is the watch that I just told her was my dream watch. What are the chances? I'll make this short, she says he recieved it from work, but hasn't touched it, let alone worn it not even once since getting it a year ago. and it has sat under their bed since the day he got it.

What an amazing piece. Looking it over just amazing everything so straight and lined up and perfect. Yes I'm sure that someone can find a flaw, but the craftsmanship is just amazing.

Long story short, it may be in my possession soon. Just a few minor details to work out, but I am keeping my fingers and toes and everything I can cross crossed. I am going to be doing a lot of landscaping work and other jobs for them, but I don't care. That is the only way I could ever afford this piece of art.

Here are the pics of it. It is just a beautiful watch. And I'm sorry for some of the pics. I was so excited tonight I forgot my tripod, so these are all free hand taken.

I hope you guys enjoy. I really enjoyed taking these pics and looking this watch over, and hopefully soon, it will be on my wrist as my very own first gen Rolex.

Many years ago, I was one of the partners in a bar/club (yup, similar to the ones you see in movies with all the smoke, smugs, alcohol, brawls etc). My partners were some of the richest scions who didn't wanna work a single minute. They were just there when the place was packed and walked around as if they owned the place (well, yes they owned the place). That left me, the much poorer guy, to take care of the work load and smallest details.

One of them was this rich 'thief' who owns many cars. One of these cars is one of the coolest old roadsters I rode and told him that if ever he gets bored with it that I will have first 'dibs' on its sale. You know what, he told me to get the place packing for a year and he will gift me with that vehicle, excluded from my dividends.

I worked my butt off! I literally had little sleep for a year, what with career at daytime and business at night that lasted 'till dawn. In the end, I got it and it was well worth it.

Get that watch, mate. No matter what work they tell you to do.

Thanks guys.

wow arcadia. that is awesome. yes, something like this has never happened to me before. These people are so nice. and this watch means absolutely nothing to him. nothing. Not even the value of it has meaning to him. But i offered and I will do a lot of work for them because I don't like to feel like i am taking from anybody. It is not set in stone yet, so my hopes are not totally up, but I am 99% sure it will.

Just looked up the serial number on Bob's watch's site. It is a 2010 model. Not 2013 like they thought. But still a brand new never been worn watch. He was under the impression that it was a 2013 model because they just gave it to him this past year.

It's the classic fluted bezel. I was just afraid to take the protective cover off.

Yep MZ crazy huh? he makes a ton ton ton of money. It is ridiculous, but he is also risking his life being over there everyday.

vootzilla, It is worth it to me to do all the work they need done this year on my days off and weekends.

mydnytrydr that is actually a barcode printed on the side of the case which I guess is a fairly newer thing, at least since 2010 that Rolex has done. I'm not too fond of it being there but that's the way it is.

wow, it sure didn't look like a sticker bonesey. Maybe I didn't look close enough though. Looked like it was printed right on the case. Do people take that off then, or just leave it?
