A friend of a friend is starting a new company called Eleven James. It is a watch club. You pay a yearly membership fee that ranges from about $2800 to $9000 per year. Every two months you get a different gen watch. The low end package has watches that retail for around $10,000. (Iwc, Pams, etc) the higher priced option has pateks, APs etc. seems like a cool idea. What do you guys think? Check it out at www.Elevenjames.com

Its a decent idea but I wouldn't do it. I'd rather pay $9000 for a Rolex Submariner thats going to go up in value and that I can keep for a long time.

And the watches are going to probably be in crappy condition after a few passarounds. Its like a leased car, no one cares about the upkeep.

i think this idea would be better suited for a "super-rep watch club" where members pay 1/20th of the price ($3-9K yearly?? yikes!) for super reps :)

Probably enough takers for this club, assuming the inventory has sufficient sex appeal.

I won't be a member. For $3-9000 I can get one or two watches that suit me just fine.

I use to be a part of a boxer of the month club. You pay something like $50 and for the next 12 months you get a different theme pattern on a pair of boxers in the mail. I think it would be cool if we had a program for our rep watches. A RWI member could put in a watch in a monthly rotation with a group of members. Would be neat to try out a few different watches without paying or wasting too much money. A month is a good time frame to decide whether it's a keeper or not.

We already had something like that before, the send around but I would participate definitely because I can't afford a super rep, but I would gladly pay like $50 or $100 a year.

i think a rep club would be decent, you break or lose the watch you buy it.. you could pay a one time payment to get on a list, then get the watch, keep it 2 weeks and pass it on.

Most pass arounds end up with the rep getting broken somewhere along the way.

True, but then you break it you buy it kicks in. Or they could just pay for the repair if it isnt serious.

I agree brad, I however think the person who loans out the rep would have enough people pitch in like 10-20$ the rep would pay for itself overall, and the owner wouldn't have to worry.

It's definitely an interesting idea, there would be a hell of a lot of things that would need to be worked out though to ensure that there were no disputes, thievery, assholeishness or cuntery ;)

If someone could come up with a good working model I'd be involved, the rep one not the gen one (If I buy a gen I don't want anyone elses grubby hands touching it ;) )

Did they send you pre-used boxers?

Last time I think I saw some guys on RG looking for a pass around Pam that disappeared for more than a year or so.
Just buy the watch, then sell it. Consider the loss the C&R Club membership fee.
