Trusted dealer question

Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a TD that will check the availability of a watch before you order and send them money. I recently ordered 2 watches from a highly regarded TD who will remain nameless for now. This is my second purchase with this TD and I asked specifically if he could get a particular watch. He said that he could and quoted me a price. After sending the money via Western Union, he informed me that he could not get the watch and to pick another. To his credit he said that he had not picked up the money yet and that I could cancel the payment, but even if that is possible (is it) I would still be out the $30 processing fee.

Anyway, I am looking for a new TD to try. Can anyone recommend a TD that will truthfully tell them if a watch is available before an order is placed? Or do I have unrealistic expectations?

I personally use Ryan at Intime and he's straight up with me from the get-go. He'll even tell me if the rep is even worth purchasing.

Generally speaking, TD are always good with communication prior to taking your money. After payment is sent, communication get slow and then "Sorry, not in stock. Pick another one."

Sometimes several people ask simultaneously at the same time for the same model and if you have less watches than you sold, than you have a problem. Anyway I don´t think any dealer would say yes if they don´t have the watch available.

Thanks guys. I definitely don't think it was intentional on the dealers end. He probably thought he could get it but didn't actually check. Sounds like there are some dealers that would check first so I appreciate the recommendations. I'll probably pick out another watch since my money is already sent and I do think he has the 2nd watch available.

Don´t look for a model which is out of stock from all the dealers, also you should mention the dealer and the model you were looking for, nobody will bite your head off.

I've always had good experiences from Sead with him telling me if something is out of stock before I pay, he'll also tells you if something is no good before you buy it.

Toro has also told me he can't get something before I buy on a couple of occasions (and never told be something is sold out after I've paid), and I've heard great things about Ryan at Intime.

I always find you get a better picture of the situation over email as well, rather than using the TD websites, but that might just be me.
