Good luck with your new purchase! If you can fix those stubby cgs and put a better crown on there, you should be good to go. Enjoy your watch

Ok, I'm ready to send him my 1680.

But, I saw that I must source myself the crown if I want to replace it.
Problem is: I don't know what crown I have to choose and where to buy.:wyliehelp:

You'll need a 7mm crown either a 703 or 702. The 702 is slightly shorter and sits well with the stubby crown guards. Trouble with the 702 is that you will need a new tube for it too. The after market tubes for these are quite tricky to find. The cost of the original will probably be more than the watch. The 703 crown generally fits on the rep tube. You could of course also buy a 703 tube, both crown and tube aftermarket versions are available on eBay.

Meantime, I contacted RolexAddict and here is what he suggest.

I can take the "package" below

Details of the sub/SD mod package :

- Re-drilled lug holes to allow the use of gen Rolex springbars,

- Bracelet end links modification to allow to fit gen Rolex springbars,

- A pair of genuine Rolex thick springbars

- Relume of the dial and hands in a radium/phosphor vintage style,

- Date wheel overlay fading, (for sub date models)

- Insert fadded,

- Yuki pearl installation with dial and hands matching lume

- Waterproofing 3ATM

- return shipping by International Registred French Post with tracking

- Full warranty just in case... (you have just to pay the shipping fees)

Guys let me know your thoughts.:D:

All of the above sounds good. The results I've seen from RA have been excellent, a nice amount of ageing for a gen like patina.
