Hey all,

So, I've been looking for a Big Pilot Top Gun Miramar and someone here posted a link to one at Perfect Clones, whom I've never used before. So I sent the link to Marvelous, and he said yes, he could get the watch for the same price posted 248.00 (WU price 225.00) I really loved the look of that watch and pulled the trigger.
It took Marvelous a while to get me QC pictures and I inquired after about a week. He said first watch was bad, waiting for new one. Finally got the pictures and this is why I'm pissed at myself. In the pictures, the dial color looked "off". Even my wife said it didn't look right. I thought it was either flash or bad lighting. Everything else looked OK so I asked him to ship it.

Well, when it arrived I was pissed. The dial was so far off from all the pictures I've seen of this watch - not even close. My wife was right. Not only is the color wrong but the watch is a real POS. 21J movement that ticks like a Timex, the strap was installed backwards (buckle at bottom) and no "Single Fold-over Deployment Clasp" as stated on website. The website also said "Decorated Asian Automatic movement - 25J". I took a picture of the movement. Maybe someone can tell me if this is correct.

The worst part of all this is that Angus has the same watch for 120.00 cheaper with the deployment clasp (and correct color I assume). I JUST DIDN'T SHOP AROUND ENOUGH.

I'm pretty new here and this is by far my worst experience buying a rep. I'll probably give the watch to my son and chalk this up as a learning experience, although I do feel slightly ripped off from Marv. He didn't actually have this watch on his website so he quoted the watch off of someone else's, even using their price - but not the EXACT WATCH (for example - no deployment clasp).
So the lesson is: Shop around and have a little patience. If QC pictures are not EXACTLY what you want, reject them. It's a tough lesson that just costed me $$.

Anyway here's some pictures:

There is no accurate version of this watch. So even the one Angus would've sold you, would be a terrible rep. That picture you posted is a GEN. Do you realize that the IWC 51111 movement is low beat ? So why would you want something other than a low beat rep movement ? There are a few threads on this watch that you should've read through. Chalk it up to inexperience. Next time , do more research and you'll avoid this.

I agree it looks off, but it is not that off if you compare with IWC's web site:

I did do some reading and even participated in a few threads on this watch. And I wasn't really expecting perfection. The low beat movement is really the least of my gripes. I just want my reps to have a slight resemblance of a gen watch and, with this dial, this one is un-wearable as far as I'm concerned. And, like I mentioned, I blame myself. I paid too much and excepted poor QC pics. I won't make this mistake again.

Well, to make matters worse, I scratched the case back taking it off for pictures. I just really feel like a f@#king Noob right now. I'll give it away as a scratched gift.

Live and learn. But if you searched the IWC forum here, you would've found out that this model is not a good rep.

How can a difference in color make a watch un wearable? Really?

Uh, I sorry your are not satisfeid with your Miramar!

The worst part of all this is that Angus has the same watch for 120.00 cheaper with the deployment clasp (and correct color I assume).

Absolutely not! What you see on Angus' page is a very, very poor rep, just look at the position of the PR subdial and the color (black!) of the dial or the datewheel. This watch isn't even worth the 120$.

So you got another rep. The dial markers, positioning, dimensions, the fonts and the hands are not bad or good. The only problem may be the color of the dial. Is it "light khaki" or "dark khaki"? The gen has a dark khaki color, but NOT black! Black is the background of the datewheel and the border of the hands. Is there a difference or a big difference between black and the dial color?

I think the problem is: there are no good pictures in daylight of the miramar rep and the gen. I can see you also made bad pictures if I look at your first picture and the overexposed color of the strap.

The case is nearly black? Or more green? I can see both colors on your pics.

Sorry, I cannot tell you anything about the movement in your watch. The very good rep'ed BigPilots (like this 5002) have an A-25J with 21.600 tics. Possibly your movement is not the same. Can't you count the tics per second? Low beat should be 5-6 tics per second and you can see/count it very good on the big dial of the BP.

The strap is not good, as I said in the other thread. I would change it to a gen strap, if I buy the rep. The buckle is correct because Miramar gens aren't with deployment buckle.

I pulled the trigger for my Miramar yesterday from Ryan/intime: Miramar 5019. And I hope the color of the dial doesn't look like the color on his site. I'll wait for the QC pics and possibly I'll reject the watch.

Face it guys, no one has a good rep of this. If they did I'd own one and I don't.

Why would you hope it not to look like the picture on his site ? If you're seeing that the color on his picture is not to your liking, I don't understand why you would be bothering to have him go source the watch. As many of us have already noted in this thread, there is not a good rep of this model. It has been discussed in many threads.

I know the pictures are over-exposed but, believe me, this is a VERY light khaki color. In my opinion this watch is also not worth 120.00 for that very reason.

As Jacksongo said: "How can a difference in color make a watch un wearable? Really?"

I'll wear it until the "better version" is available. So until early 2015 I think... :hehehe:

That's just me I guess. Would you wear a Rolex that screams Canal St. fake? I wouldn't. That's similar to how bad this watch is.
