TC V5 - Which 16610 is it?

The newest V5 TC subs have no rehaut (I know he removes it) and no engravings that i can find (ie, nothing between the lugs). The crystal does not have LEC (that I can see).

So my question is, what gen "series" Sub is this most like and what years was it manufactured?

I believe I read some where that it was closest to the 2003 Y series. I'm not sure about this tho.

The Y series is a transitional series where the first phase was with lug holes that were eventually replaced by the no lug holes. It was also during that time that the LEC on subs transitioned from the Y series to the F series (this is exclusive to the sub as Explorers etc already have LEC by early 2000's). Rehaut engravings started with the M series of 2007.

So basically an untouched sub with no rehaut engravings, no LEC, no lugholes etc can only be issued during the Y series. Hope this helps.

You did mention that TC didn't put the "Y" in the serial (back for version 2). My V5 has no serial at all. So is that a new thing for TC or did I misunderstand what you said and TC has never had serial numbers on his subs?

tc shaves of the rehault engravings.so also shaved the serial off the lugs.if you want a tc with the serial on the lugs tell tc not to shave the rehault engravings .

I have a gen 16613 A serial with the LEC on the crystal. This is a 1999 submariner with the "SWISS" only dial. I jave looked at the LEC under a loup and confirmed it is not a service crystal. So maybe the twp tone subs started using a crystal with an LEC in 1999.

Why does he shave/sand off all the engraving? According to his blog he said he does it because everyone hates it. Why does everyone hate it. I assume it is because it's that bad.
