First off, some gratitude. I've been having a blast here and have done some crazy projects that have been made possible by you all! Speaking of which, some of you probably saw my completed 16610 projects here. Well, dammit if I didn't get bored and move into another one...
You probably saw the other thread here about the available gen dssd bezels on the bay (4 of them for sale from chronoshop - well 3 now - haha)... I mean this is the real deal, full ceramic genuine bezel with full bezel assembly! Well my impulsive ass just went for it!
Maybe I shot first without aiming... But I dropped a good chunk on above mentioned gen dssd bezel assembly (you rarely see them come up - I HAD to do it - lol) and impulsively bought is. Read on.......
I have really wanted to love my dssd and have bought 2 of them. I have the most recent bp and the most recent bk. both gen eta movement. Personally, I think the noob is overall better quality but the bp has its fine points...
At the end of the day; however, the bezel is crap on both of them. Either wrong triangle, bad pearl, wrong color in font, poor engraving, etc...
The rest is good. The dial, hands,
Etc. are all pretty good, and the debate is over on the matte finish on dial,
As gens have gloss and matte (depending on production year).
Here's the deal...
Obviously I can get some ar and relume but that bezel!!! Well, as you now know, I Bought a gen dssd bezel/assembly on the bay - complete with all parts. And that should solve my problems and help create the perfect dssd rep!
Now you know I have a bp and a bk (noob) - both are the most recent, both have eta movements. My plan is to just take the bk/noob and get ar, relume, and install gen bezel assembly.
My question is, would you swap parts between these? If so, what's your opinion of best laid plans?
And MORE importantly... Will this gen bezel assembly fit either case? It has yet to arrive but wanted to prepare...
Anyway, I am always grateful for your wisdom!
