I visited Chris (10:10 watch repair, TD at RWG) today, and I saw wonderfully repaired PVD finish on B&R watch. Chris use DuraCoat gun finish, black color, with hardener. Process take 3 days. First you spray the watch case with airbrush, dry it for 24 hours, then spray again, dry for 24 hours, and then last coat, also dry for 24 hours. Chris said the finish is way stronger, than PVD, and you can make it matt, or shiny, depend on hardener quantity in mix. I'm not a big fan of PVD, but that finish really looks amazing. Shot shity pics for your information.

Duracoat is elastic but not nearly as hard as PVD. It is also more thick. I will take hits better than PVD without breaking to the metal underneath, but it will wear out faster from abrasion. If I were to go with a thick coating on a watch, I would choose Cerakote, it is almost 10 times more abrasion resistant than Duracoat but it requires stripping the watch completely cause you need to bake the case.
