I have finally graduated to a TC sub, and wow, it looks pretty damn perfect to me! Got to me in exactly the time quoted (30 days - tough wait, but worth it!) and there's no doubt TC earns his kudos - this is an amazing rep which screams gen! While I'd love to have a gen insert (and will probably now keep my eye out for a good deal on one), I went for the "Caddell Vintage Insert" which, to my eye, looks fantastic with a great pearl (which matches the dial lume perfectly). And TC's movement is buttery smooth, certainly as good as any ETA I have on other watches (and better than most).
For those noobs (like me) who have never received a TC before, the packaging and presentation is superb and professional. What I did not expect was to have to install the insert myself - since I was getting TC's insert, I kind of expected that it would be put in for me. And while I did finally succeed at installing it (hands still sore from that a day later), I accidentally scratched it, but it's not too noticeable. I figure I'll eventually replace it with a gen insert now that I know how to remove/install them!
I've read mixed reviews on this bracelet. Out of the box, I felt it desperately needed a spa treatment to cure the janglies and make it feel more gen-like. After treating it with first silicone lube, and then dry lube, it is now much much better.
If you are even considering getting one of these, don't wait! You never know when TC may stop making them and having had a few rep subs (sub Cs), this is head and shoulders better.
Here are some pics (from my phone, so not the greatest):
