Getting To Know The Place

I am currently contemplating a few different AP watches and hoped for some input. Looking to spend around $750 and I am willing to have it modded by the right individual to get an excellent product if need be. I am looking for something with a great quality band and no major visible imperfections. These are the watches I am considering:

1) ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE ULTIMATE RUBEN BARRICHELLO III ROSE GOLD TITANIUM A7750

2) ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE ULTIMATE DON RAMON DE LA CRUZ

3) ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE RUBBERCLAD ROSE GOLD GREY DIAL

4) V5 ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE DIVER ON RUBBER STRAP SWISS ETA 2824

5) ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE CHRONOPASSION V5 ON RUBBER STRAP

From what I have read the rubber bands are very close to genuine although I prefer a leather strap. However, I am looking for the best overall 1:1 to gen. I appreciate the input.

Im pretty sure watch #1 and #2 are both out of stock.. so that narrows it down quite a bit!

Cant go wrong with the Diver. Its definitely the most versatile of them. Chronopassion is my favorite of the ROOs. A little more subdued. Not so flashy.

Intime has them both showing as available
As of yesterday, intime does not have the don ramon. It says in stock on website, but if you ask ryan in email, he does not have stock. Many tds do not have stock of the don ramon right now.

It seems like you're after a Franken AP. But before I go on, you need to know that there is no such thing as a 1:1 rep, a Franken will just get you closer. Instead of using the highly subjective "major visible imperfection", it'll be better to ask what's closer to gen instead.

Out of the box would probably be the Diver, rep rubber straps are pretty good and you won't need to buy oem strap.

For a Franken, at minimum you'll probably need these mods:
-gen dial
-lwo283 movement with DD module
-repositioned pushers
-oem leather strap (rep leather strap are rubbish)

You can take it further with
- gen tach ring
-gen buckle
-gen spec DWO
-thinned case and gasket

However, you're going to have an impossible time finding parts for some of those models, and no where for that little amount of money.

With the Diver, you could perhaps get a screw mod and waterproofing
And the others, you could probably just get a better strap

You need to spend more the $750. Most of the watches you want are in the $600 frame, you need a strap which will be between
200 and 400. Then you have no modds done. AR is around 100, movementservice for ROOs and RB cost you 250, and that is a must.
On an RB you need to get also the plate modd.So now you are around 1200. If you only can afford 750,
then buy a v5 diver and swapp the movement to gen eta. Do not forget the shipping cost on everything, it adds up easy to 100 bucks.

what exactly is being done at that movementservice? And why is it a must do?

Roo Asian 7750 movement is highly modified to run seconds @12 and really just a ticking time bomb:popcorn: Domi does a full service and adds jewels to make it more reliable. Ultimately a lwo 283 movement is the way to go, but that's a whole different ball game(Oem dial, case modding ) ect ect

DEEP POCKETS:hehehe:

why movement service is a must?

AR doesnt need to because the gen doesnt have any AR. but i know it can be more beautiful with AR job

How long do you think the following transfer mechanism (this is only the bottom half) will run reliably?

pure metal to pure metal, that sounds not good. then it's a miracle that my ROO sec@12 is still running for almost 4 years without any service. Its time to contact Domi for a service !!!
