Shaved 116613 dial (pictures)
When I first got my BP tt Sub I was impressed by the quality of the watch and especially the bezel. One thing I wasn't impressed with was the ungodly purple dial. (Purple, really?) A dial swap was in order. Only problem is nobody makes a rep version of the new sunburst 116613 dial. I had an extra WM9 dial that would look much more correct than the stock BP dial. Only trouble was the WM9 dial is too big, and has the wrong markers. The marker swap was easy enough, and pretty straight forward. The pins of the BP markers lined up great with the WM9 dial, except for the 6 and 12. I over drilled the dial marker holes a bit to get the markers on. Now as for shaving the dial....

The stock WM9 dial
The WM9 dial needs a bit of a haircut to get into the BP case. Using a 3/16" diameter wooden dowel that was 3" long and tapered on one end, I put the dowel through the middle of the dial and hot glued the dial onto it from the back side. The dial and dowel were put into my cordless drill.
I used a fine emery board and a gentle back and forth motion with the drill on low speed to shave the dial edge.
Now the diameter of the WM9 dial matches the BP exactly.
What were they thinking with this crappola purple dial? The WM9 will look much better in the watch....
DarthAlex has my BP case for waterproofing, and I'll ship the dial to him to go into the case. I'll post completed pictures when I get the watch back.
