Hi everyone I'm a new member here and have been reading for hours now.. Love this forum. I purchased this rep datejust about 8 years ago on craigslist for $500 because it was listed as authentic. Yea yea I know I'm an idiot we can skip that part lol. At the time I knew nothing about rolex or watches and thought it was the deal of a lifetime..not quite lol. Since then I have purchased 2 gen rolexs and love them, I have also learned quite a bit along the way.

I am looking to sell this one because I never wear it and it just sits around collecting dust. I would like to find out a little about it and offer it at a fair price. My first question is what movement is in my watch? Is it Swiss or Asian? I went to the movement section and compared it to the Swiss vs the Asian and I think it is a Swiss eta because of how close the lettering is. I'm not sure how we'll you can make it out in the pics but it says Swiss 25 jewel movement. The date wheel is off, it floats around. When I wind it it runs good and doesn't stop but gains quite a few seconds a day, maybe 30ish.
The jubilee band is in pretty decent condition with a little bit of stretch and is slightly bent in one link by the end pieces. Is there a way I can tell if the band is plated or wrapped? Also I have the idea that the crown is solid 18k gold because I have scratched it lightly and it's still gold under the scratch. I have also used a gold jewlery cloth on the entire watch and the crown is the only part that turns the cloth black and then looks polished and shiny. Is there a way to tell if the crown is gen?
Any idea what it's worth and what I should ask for it? Let me know if you have any more questions or would like more pics and I'll be happy to provide them. Thanks so much for your time and I really appreciate you guys looking!

If that's an 8 year old movement it's almost surely Swiss. And it does appear to be Swiss from the general look of it and the jeweled auto winding gears.

And the crown is probably gold plated brass. That's where the oxidation is coming from.

That makes sense about the crown, thank you very much. Yea the watch is at least 8 years old because it was used when I purchased it and had a little bit of age on it then. Thank you very much. Any idea how much I should ask?

I'd say it's worth about $120ish. Considering it's age, it's due for a service

That jubilee clasp has 7 adjustment holes. Most reps now only have 6 holes. Gen clasps have 7 holes.

The overall look of the case and dial are pretty good. Gen crowns have a fold mark on the inside chamfer of the bezelling teeth. Reps generally do not. The profile and shape of the crown is pretty good too.

I'd buy it off you for $120!!

Appreciate the input. I tried to post it on the for sale section but it got nuked because I didn't follow all the rules. I'll go over all the rules tomorrow and relist on the sale forum. Thanks!
