First letter from customs

Well gents today I received my first detention letter from customs and border protection. Seems like the SD I purchased is headed to an import specialist review for trademark authentication

I think I've lost my first one

Slaughterer - what happened with yours? Is it just a letter from customs that it's been seized and that's the end of it?

There are a few options.
1) They just send a letter for you to come with receipt to declare value and pay customs.
2) They send a letter that the watch is being examined for patent or IP theft.
3) They send a letter from OEM legal threatening fine and legal action.
All three mean you have lost the watch, and maybe need to change your mailing address for future shipments.

Can I ask how many successful deliveries you've had vs seizures?

90% are successful. There are danger periods in the calendar, however. Right now Hong Kong customs is freaking out about that lithium battery explosion and the USA is putting pressure on them to clamp down on IP violation.

I've had the same package returned from DHL & Fedex in china to the shipping agent, well actually fedex still have the package:facepalm:
Dealer offered me the $$$$'s back straight way but I'm just choosing 2 different reps.

Sorry to hear of your loss, however, this could have almost certainly have been prevented in the UK.

When the third party company who act on behalf of the IP holder write to you to say they have your watch, you simply state that you have bought the goods in good faith and you do not authorise their detainment or destruction. Copy the Boarder Protection Agency on this communication and demand a reply within 10 days.

You then ask them to provide proof that your goods are counterfeit from the IP holder and that you'll see them in court.

At this point they say sorry and send you your watch to you.

I bough it from a fellow member not a TD, package was shipped registered air. Things should be on with our TD's and your prefered method of shipping...... Wait you're in Australia that has nothing to do with United States customs which is my dilemma

Maybe a letter in English should be sender with the watch to look like it's real?

hope this gets resolved in your favor... which state did you get this shipped to ? I live in canada but was under the impression that the US is easier... I guess not
