What Needs To Be Done To The Survivor?

Alright, background information: I have been extremely preoccupied with school lately, but I am nearing graduation, and I am considering getting myself an Audemars Piguet Survivor for a grad gift to myself.

Now, because I have been absent from these forums for so long, I don't know what the current solution for the sec@12 issue is on the automatic movements in the ROO's, how much it costs, or if it even needs it any more (if it has been fixed or not). Some input from the more up-to-date AP enthusiast members would be appreciated here.

Thanks in advance!!!

1. About 20% of the reps being delivered will show a stuttering sec @ 12 hand, usually due to some slippage or fault in assembly in the gear train that shifts the seconds hand from 9 to 12. Additional jewels can be installed to ease the movement of the gears in this train assembly, and retooling can be done and graphite can be added--best in combination with a complete service w/ ultrasonic cleaning and re-oiling.
2. Your Survivor will have a cloudy rep crystal with nasty AR which will need to be replaced with a double AR crystal.
Survivor is an accurate rep for the most part, but will have faults of every AP rep using the A7750 as movement (incorrect DW placement, incorrect stem and pusher alignment, etc.)

" incorrect stem and pusher alignment " for the survivor? You sure about that?

Just got a new Survivor today. It's perfect as far as I can tell, except for the date window placement of course, and the case depth is slightly more than gen. Running seconds seems fine. I don't see any issue with the stem/pusher placement, but I haven't competed that with the gen.

I am not concerned about any inaccuracies because well, one, I'm not trying to fool anyone that a student can afford a $40k+ watch and two, I just love how it looks even with it's slight flaws.

I just purely want it to be reliable, because if I am spending that much I would want it to last a long time. I would be mostly looking for just a graphite lube if that is possible as it seems the best bang/buck option.

I am not fully confident with myself to do it though, who would I send it to do to that service IF the movement's module needs it?

For the Survivor the alignment of the crown and chrono pushers is a tell (it is straight), like for all A7750 APs, but it matters not too much for Survivor or even T3 as the chrono pusher guards block vision of the pusher position.
Sounds like OP does not really care about this though.

Well what do you recommend I do then Guru? If I recall correctly you have a great deal of experience with AP's... Should I just get it serviced or get jewels put in??? I just want it to last as long as possible

hey Edge, How about the Bumble bee, Ginza 7, RBII, a lot of the 44mm does lines up straight in the gen? At least it looks that way to me in pics.
