i opened a watch can someone mark on my pic stem release,and do i remove the stem in winding mode wilst the movent is moving or in time setting mode its a 21j

Some will recommend after you hack the movement, others will prefer to pull out after unscrew to prevent messing with keyless.

Everybody seems to have a different opinion of which position but I always do it from the time setting position. Slowly pull on the stem while slowly pressing on the button. Don't press too hard and don't force anything. Only press it in far enough to release the stem. And when re-installing, if it doesn't go in smoothly, while slowly rotating the stem, don't force it. You may need to put a little pressure on the stem release while you're putting it back in.

It's the one right below the blue button. Looking at the stem from the crown in, it's right above the stem on the edge of the movement base. In front of the brass gear that's sticking out

There's only one button that has an indentation on it for using a sharp object to push it in.

this white stuff on the dial is the reason for me opening her up

Live Photobucket works great on iPhone also just download the app... and careful re- installing that stem... ,,,, for someone just starting out ,rebuilding a keyless can be a pita..... :cheers:

i use nokia 808 currently the stem is removed and in a little pot.i cant remove the two movement clamps and screws,as the screwdriver is too big.but when i get the movement out im going to rodico the dial edge where that weird white scrape is.but i could be anything

yep so far so good.im scared about dial swap and hand removal.i only ordered the tool last night.
