I'm using nocti!
So thats what you use. Quality is awesome, and something I am looking to achieve. Thanks,!
BTW, what is nocti?
Correct. Another way to do it, is to keep the hands right side up and run the oiler along the bottom of the hand. I don't know what the scientific process is called, but the small openings will "suck" lume up into them and perfectly fill all the gaps.
I think that is the surface tension of the lume mix that you are referring to.Is it some Bernoulli principle of sucking air?
?
Its NoctiLumina.com. Its great stuff but due to the contract restrictions, its only available for sale in the states.
remove indices, soak in acetone.
This is something that is possible with about 80% of the dials out there. Others like the polar explorers, you cannot do such methods and which is why VAC and others charge upwards of 160$ for such a job. The old lume needs to be meticulously scraped off the indice while being held down. VERY dangerous.
I did an exp2 polar the other day and the results were not as good because I could not get 100% of the old lume out of the painted bucket indice. Not to mention, the black is enamel paint, which is easily dissolved by the binder that is in the lume mixture.
It was just bad and I feel really bad about it, so no more of those pieces for me..
